Major Nearly Fatal accident to a Derrickman on Oil Rig

On an oil rig, the Derrickman is the man responsible of handling drill pipes on the derrick, he always is a cliver man who do a very critical job. sometimes unexpected accident may happen to him, this accident is one of them.

This is why they wear safety harness attached they won’t get severe injuries he might not feel that great after but he is alive and I bet he is still doing this job

It is very important that you are picked up by colleagues as quickly as possible because the blood flow in the legs is restricted when you are hanging in the harness..!

That’s what happened when you don’t tie back the stands of drill pipe when you pull them out I found out the hard way myself.

One day at the gym a man said i didn't know you could do pull overs. I worked derrick on a rig and I had to climb back up my safety line (Only one) I don't have to worry about it anymore at 70yrs old!!

Bet he doesnt forget to put his lanyard on again. Watched this happen, driller sent him up the winch line he got the srl unset and driller up and down slamming him on the winch line lmfao. He never forgot to put his lanyard on after that

Seen so much shit like this on the rigs. Nasty injury was a pipe rack fell on a dudes leg. Snapped it less in half. He was fucked up and out of work for a couple years from it. Had to drive him to meet an ambulance. Funny thing was the bosses show up at the hospital and want to drug test him, so they wouldn’t have to pay shit if he was on anything, the nurses are luck well your shit out of luck we had to give him morphine as soon as we picked him up. The bosses were pissed. Just shows how much they give a shit about their workers.

Of course he was high lol but that didn’t cause his injury hahahah
