The instrument he's playing is an ST80, the tune is called 'Saving My fkn Back'.

pro tip, get a set of collar slips dedicated to building stands in the mouse hole so when you are short-handed and you only have one person to pull slips you can be lifting 20 lb out of the mouse hole instead of 200 lb. work smarter not harder boys!

Tough life. Try it at minus 30 or plus 120 in a blizzard, a sandstorm, night, day,

Did this through the 70's til the oilfield shutdown in '86. Every job after was never intimidating or too much, too hard or in any kind of weather that I couldn't stand.
I was in the derrick when the well blew out because we didn't keep the hole full of mud as we tripped out..if you're not familiar with what a "Geronimo line" is think of the name and let your imagination GO!😅

Tie off slips to the bottom of iron rough neck and let it pull slips for you. Works great. Trust me, been there done that.

That looks a lot easier pace than the chain thing they do on other vids, with moving swinging metal.

I takes longer to make that connection with power tongs than using spinning chain rotary table is not locked and roughneck not helping motor hand pull slips.

The most casual short handed connection ever. 👍🏻
You can take it longer than they can, probably wouldn’t show everybody tho.

Mio figlio fa lo stesso lavoro, solo per persone determinate, con grande forza, un lavoro pesante, ma tutto il mio rispetto chi lo fa.Mio figlio lavora, ad Ungheria con Rotary Drilling Company.❤

When he swiped that thread protector away he put his hand between the pipe in the elevators and the stump, dangerous move if the drillers not paying attention that could be a lost hand

The only not safe is them not torquing up that connection. Dude got killed a few years back when they went to mousehole the stand and reshoot survey, driller backed off the middle joint dropped on one of the hands..

Always torque everything. They'll learn one of these days

Pro tip #2, invest in a Rotating Mousehole Tool.
Then build your stands offline while drilling ahead.
Time is money as they say.

Almost thought it was Nabors Drilling. Their motto. Don’t get in a hurry. It’s on all JSA’s
