There is so much truth to the last bit! I pay less attention to what I think of my body when I'm in a good, well-fitting outfit. I went to a PTA meeting in jeans, tee and blazer, and I felt cute already, but then one of my 10yo son's friends said, "I like your outfit today. You look really professional..." 😆

At age 70, I refuse to be either a season or a geometrical shape. But I have broad shoulders and narrow hips, so a lighter colour on the bottom half with a darker colour on top works. On the bike on cold winter mornings, I wear thick warm round neck jumpers, and create a 'V' with a carefully woven narrow scarf over it. My lower legs could do with a couple of extra inches in length, so I wear high waisted trousers, belted, and tuck in. Good tip to match footwear to trousers, thanks

Great Tips!
Two of my favorites:
1. VOLUME between the waist and thigh area makes all the difference in how slim a maxi, midi or wide leg trouser appears. Bottoms that fan out from the waist add too much volume around the hips and thighs. Even wide leg trousers can be flattering if the vertical lines nip in slightly around the upper thigh and then fall straight to the wide hem.
2. BRAS must lift without lumps... or pain. Pressure points must be distributed across a wide enough surface to smooth contours. Underarm support should smooth and direct the body into a flattering position without pain. No bruises on the inside of arms from improperly positioned underwires.

I love your videos, Anna. You're adorable and funny and give great information without sounding superior. It's like talking with a friend who tells you the truth without making you feel bad about yourself. XXOO ❤️ ❤️

I thought I was the only person who had clothes accounting for normal weight maintenance fluctuations. 😂 but it’s crazy how much we can fluctuate and how it can make us feel as women. It’s not about “goal” clothing, but more about being prepared for whatever our body decides to give us that day. Great video!

Thank you for this video! I especially appreciate all the side-by-side clips showing the difference that a seemingly small tweak can make - neckline, hemline, shoes, etc. I just subscribed! :)

I just bought some new clothes that fit me at my current weight. I have been struggling to lose weight. Menopause is no joke! I had to accept that I still want to look good now and that it may take me awhile to lose the weight. I do like the wider leg pants that are in now. I feel they are definitely more flattering than skinny jeans.

I’m short, I’ve always been short and I’ll probably continue being short forever. So, I’ve learned to accept my shortness and dress in what I like. I love jeans and sneakers. No matter where I go, I like to wear jeans. At my age, I feel I deserve jeans. I’m retired and don’t need to dress for anyone but myself. I don’t go anywhere unless I really need to. So, my rant is over. Some days I’m happy and some days not so much. Today is a not so much day. I enjoy your videos because you’re real. I mean that as a compliment.

I have short legs (paired with a long torso) and I concur that a maxi length is really flattering and visually lengthens. I never buy midi skirts or cropped pants as they make my legs look quit short and chopped off.

Anything really clingy will add bulk. I always check my back, if I see any bumps or lumps…I get rid of that item. I just got rid of all of my too tight clothes, Ugh!

I HAVE the jeans you show in the first don't! 😆 Except mine fit. I even still wear them, and they look fine with some outfits (belly covered) and not very good with others. Really I should look for a better pair... Big YES on the advice to show skin of the parts you like. I have great shoulders and upper arms, and look better in a v-neck. So guess what tops I look for? It doesn't work great in winter in Iowa, but sometimes I still go with that and cover with a jacket or sweater.

Am I the only one who thinks those enormous jeans doesn’t make people look slimmer? You said so yourself that oversized clothes make you look bigger. Wide legged pants seem to add so much visual weight, particularly for jeans where denim stands so stiffly away from the body. I thought you looked thinner in the skinny jeans because I can see how slim and pretty your legs are. I find nothing makes me look dumpier than wide legged pants because of the bulk they add to my lower half. My legs and butt are some of my best features so why wear clothes that make them look thicker? If my shoes match my pants I still have a long line. Am I the only one who thinks this way? Yes, I know skinnies are out of style, but I will go for straight rather than wide legged.

Dear, dear Ms Anna...
It is FANTASTIC!
You show the difference!
(skinny jeans or...high rise; a bit of shoulders (or a lot), V-neck tip, dark/light colours....all white (goody it is a top of the list this year, adorable!))
Tips...that we CAN achieve with what we have!
Your recommendations are so appreciated!
Thank you Ms Anna....

Thank you for your excellent point about wearing thicker more structured fabrics that skim rather than clinging to the body. Even polyester can look and drape acceptably when it has some substance. Sorry for the rant, but nobody needs to see bulging back fat!😵‍💫
