Changing my major at 22 so I’ll be graduating at 26. Nice to know that there are a lot of people going through this and I’m not alone

i thought i could do the whole no-college-success-story thing but i failed and got trapped in the poverty cycle. so now at the age where most people are graduating i am going to start the first year of my undergrad degree. wish me luck...

Starting college for the first time at 26! It took me 3 years of going back and forth with the decision. But I’m not getting any younger so it’s now or never! I sign up for summer classes today ✨

Thanks for this. I'm 25 and I'm going back to school. By the time I start, I'll be almost 26. This helped a lot.

I started college at 24 to be a special needs teacher. I'm 26 now and this has been the BEST decision I've ever made! I'm planning to get my psychology degree as well. The purpose of college is not only to be able to get a good job in the future, but it can also be a great way to learn about yourself, to improve your social skills, learn empathy, patience etc. Please guys, don't care about society's expectations that much. Be you. ❤

I'm 20 going to be 21 just starting school in the fall and never having a job. This is helpful thank you. I've been worried about starting school late for a while. I would be in class with most people 2 or 3 years younger than me.

I went to university early, and I regretted. I didn’t know who I was, and I was not so sure about what I wanted. To be honest, I wish I went to University later in life.

I feel u sister and I think we need to pay attention to this and normalize age differences at University, I was starting University at Age 21 and at the lowest point of my life I was seriously sick and got an accident, even doctor and my parent didn't agree with my decision. I was graduated last year. I never regret my decision at all,

I’m 24 and have taken community college classes here and there over the last 7 years since graduating from high school. Just recently have I decided I deserve the higher education I psyched myself out of. Better yet, I actually have a DREAM compared to when I was 17. Thanks for this!

I started university at age 22 after doing community college. For me, I feel like I’m behind everyone but now I know what I want to focus on with career which I didn’t know before

I'm 23 and just started college but I was just feeling depressed lately because I'm still in school and my mates have all graduated. I'll be graduating at 27 . 😭

Thank you for sharing your perspective on this subject. I am currently 27 & haven't done anything education-wise beyond studying Games Development as a school-leaver, and most recently, re-sitting my English & Maths to get those updated (which was achieved this year just gone). It's tough at the moment being someone who still lives at home & has someone who relies on me to be working to get by day-to-day.

It's tough at my current job where most people are in their mid-40s and over who I can't really relate with as well as people closer to my age, so my social life is almost non-existent, so it makes me think that education is the way to go, but coming out of work would be a big challenge with current circumstances.

Despite this, I will always keep education as an option in my mind, and hopefully the stars will align for me to find a good time to start again!

Edit: I also feel the main benefactor of getting into education again is to build a social network, in which we can mutually benefit each other & help each other on our journey's to getting into a dream job, so that would be the main drive for me to go back.

23 and planning on going back to school next year, thanks for sharing this! It’s really good to see other people in similar circumstances improving them selves, it alleviates my imposter syndrome

I was an older student and had an awful time before finally entering a major with a community, and also living in a coop. But I loved learning and being independent, just student life. I was 30 when I finally graduated 7 years of school! It was I think the mist meaningful period of my life, I grew into myself. I miss it, it's sad how we have to move on from certain eras of our lives, but we can at least be grateful for them and that we were really living life. So, congratulations! I live in California.

I’m a 99” Baby, so I am now 24. I spent the years being 18-21 failing college partying. So I felt like I started college at 22, it feels weird getting older in classes. I know have my associates degree and am on track for my bachelors. We’ll get through it!

I was a freshman at 24. Honestly not bad at all. Infact I was the most popular "kid". Terrible childhood left me with crippling anxiety and major depressive disorder. This only hit however at 18 when life just became overwhelming. I was a very energetic extroverted kid who everybody loved. I will say the fact that my younger brother was also a freshman helped a lot. All of his friends became mine. I had the full college experience. I also age well and most people couldn't tell. However I couldn't care about that. I was there to obtain a degree. I was also earning a very good online passive income much higher than my current salary (those things don't last) so that helped take my mind off things. When I was there I met a bunch of people around my age who had their own reasons for being there. Even met my wife among that group. The most important thing is to just live life fully. If you're maxxing out your day everyday even if you are a few steps behind, then you become your biggest fan and everyday your mind will shoot positivity at you and enable you to take the risks and make decisions you otherwise wouldn't have.
