TY for the awesome video! To each their own in terms of college choices...I do have my own to add if I may...My father(We're Korean) attended USC for his bs then to Columbia for his MBA ... My Uncle attended MIT as chem Engineer major... By time I reached High School Age we had chance to sit down to discuss my "academic future"....This is what Dad and Uncle had to say on the whole thing, and not what you're expecting to hear😆....

"OVERRATED & Bull Sh#!" Yup those were their exact words ...Most Asian parents are duped and obsessed with top tiers and Ivy as my Grandparents were...My Uncle said unless you're that geeky weirdo who just loves academia and can't get enough of it and wealthy too then more power to them..Otherwise, he said I should focus on enjoying my time in High School while learning taking in as much as I can without being obsessed about getting that grade or doing all the cookie cutter top students do, accordingly he states that he wasted his time doing alll the "this will get me into MIT stuff, He emphasized grow and learn more of yourself as a teen, and sure put in the work for class, but as they say Don't miss the Forest for the My Dad was no different, he said he was brainwashed into thinking obtaining the best numbers and doing all the tedious things that looks good on the application ...According to him even those that made it to Harvard and Stanford "mickey-Moused" non profit projects that only made them look good and as soon as they turned in their app it all stopped and left it all hanging high and dry ... Wealthy parents were spending tens of thousands on Mentors, Consultants, and private tutors from those colleges ... At the end of the day it turned into a shallow Beauty Pageant of who gets into what school for the mainly Asian students ... My Uncle hates his major and preferred that he just attended a simple Calstate in different major....My Dad thumbs his nose at his major, a complete waste of money...They gave me the best plan as

I didn't take the SAT/ACT or even apply after my 11th... I enjoyed my time taking it easy at my high school...I still managed to get high grades for the sake of learning ....Most my Korean and Chinese (LOL) classmates got accepted to numerous Ivy... BUT rejected to the school I ended up attending, which I will get to.... Soon after graduating I continued to be involved in my passion projects FOR ME... I attended my local City College for FREE and needed up transferring to UCLA(All my classmates except 1 got accepted to) to attend for FREE, I live in Los Angeles btw AND my Dad didn't claim me on his TAXES ....I got to travel and work and gained more life experience as well as coming of age... From my 17year old self I absolutely was clueless about life compared to being 21...I can tell you that I had the best time of my life right after high school in the real working world, and not being tossed into a class where an old Phd Professor shoves their say down your throat ... I have a greater appreciation for Academia as matter of fact ... Hell my professors comes from top IVY so I don't know what the fuss is all about to attend them... At end of day Im debt free and doing exactly what I figured what I wanted to do in my 20s...By time in my 30s Im sure it will continue to evolve .. Anyways TY and much success to all!

Thank you, this vid was very insightful! I like community college because I feel free to pursue my ideas in music and to study mathematics. It is more natural then Highschool because you are treated like slightly more mature person. Anyways wish me luck on ucla. I wish the best for all of your transfer goals!

If I had a lower GPA in high school, around 2.7, but the first two years of community college I got a 3.8 or higher, what is my chance of transferring to an Ivy League school: Princeton, Yale, Harvard… or even a good school that is not Ivy League, like Notre Dame? My dream school is Yale.

Would transfer admission into UCs be impossible or low (5% I heard from one source) if I attempt to transfer from an EAST COAST cc and not a California one?

even if colleges require high school transcript for transfer they don't actually look at those grades and they only look your community college gpa right?

First thing first thank for the video, and for me, I want really rough path, I don't want give up of my boyfriend he is really important for me, anyway and then I probably gonna work my ass a lot after go to us to go to a community college and after go to my dream college, is such mess I kinda had apply to regular application, but something happen I can't afford the english test, and I probably don't gonna have money until the deadline, also because I am really poor I don't know if they gonna accept me f1 visa most of people have money to prove they can stay far way from they campus.

I dont know if i have the potential to get into Yale or Cornell. I had a 2.8 Gpa in high school and i regret slacking off freshman year so much, because of that it literally screwed up my whole high school experience and idk if im eligible now since they want 4.0 gpa’s

Does your high school transcript matter? How does transfering to CC to Uni even work?
