C’s do get degrees, but also keep in mind scholarships and degree requirements! Also keep in mind that putting a little extra effort in assignments, can take some stress off of how well you have to perform on tests or finals. I always went for gold because I knew there were some weeks I wouldn’t want to complete and assignment or put as much effort into papers. I still got straight A’s, wasn’t super stressed, and got to say I was in the top of my class with another woman! Don’t sell your skills short! I’m in grad school now!

Grades don't necessarily reflect learning, but it's important to get your money's worth! You picked your major bc it's interesting or bc you want to work in that field, and you're probably paying a ton, so you might as well learn the material.

C's get degrees but they dont keep scholarships. Also, some extracurriculars require you to maintain a certain GPA. One thing I would say is do it at your own pace. Dont let people try to rush you for no reason.

Learn to budget! Get as much as possible from your hometown when visiting as new places you might pay a higher price because of the unfamiliarity of the place. + Make friends that support you either in study or in life in general

I wish I knew how many resources, programs, and scholarships were available. Sometimes talking to a counselor or visiting a student life office or the library could open so many doors.

I graduated from college in May and unless your major is in the arts or something similar grades actually do matter. You don’t need straight A’s but you should aim for at least 3.0 GPA. A good majority of colleges will most likely kick you out if your GPA is too low.

Forgot to add that there are employers that will look at your GPA.

Getting straight As absolutely matters even more so than high school. Wanna do research? Wanna do internship? Fellowship? Apply to grad school? Yeah they'll be looking at your GPA for any degree that's gonna pay above minimum wage. There are exceptions of course but the exceptions are just that, not the rule

Hi guys,
For certain programs like engineering, your GPA does matter. But the GPA is only important for your first internship or job. Always aim to be above a 3.0 GPA because it’s better to have the option for graduate school than to regret it.

One thing I feel like best understated or overlooked is “doing college at your own pace” I feel like so many people feel pressured to do it all in 4 years or to hop straight into university even if they can’t afford it financially or mentally, and this is something I didn’t realize until after I took 2-3 years off away from college is you can finish it on your own time at your own pace. Obviously if you wanna be at a certain place in your life at a certain range of time that’s different, but if you just want to finish college you don’t have to rush or feel stressed to do it all in 4 years. Ik a lot of people who either went back after a gap year or two, waited to start Collen later in life, or even take 6 years instead of four. We all got our own pace. I hope my meanings was conveyed well I’m typing this at work so..😅

The problem with "C's get degree's" is you never know what you will decide to do in the future, and in the case you want to go back to school later in life, they will look at stuff like that.... so maybe don't just do the bare minimum?

I feel like grades do reflect knowledge in the course and if your getting a job with your degree, you should know what you need to know which is offered in the core and career classes

as a grad student with a PhD, I’d give my suggestions as started off with a to your college and then transfer over you get seniority and it’s cheaper and you can still get your degree from where you want it. Yes, learn how to eat on a budget lastly, go over budgeting before you start school they should require this as a classhow to avoid student loans and how to afford life as a student there’s so many factors for every individual and that there are a lot of things out there you can get for free for students or for your dorms

Straight As don’t matter but my god does it help. You never know what life event pops up where having an A will give you that extra cushion for your gpa or just day to day class work
