✅Ingredients

• 4 large sweet potatoes
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

✅Instructions

1️⃣Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2️⃣ 00:00:47 - Scrub the dirt off of each sweet potato. Use a fork to poke 8 to 10 sets of holes in the skins of each sweet potato for ventilation and wrap each tightly in aluminum foil.

3️⃣ 00:01:52 - Place on a baking sheet to catch the juice that will inevitably leak out. Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour, or until soft.

4️⃣ 00:02:12 - Carefully remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and unwrap. Slice them each in half length-wise.

5️⃣ 00:02:32 - Add 1 tablespoon melted butter to the inside of each sweet potato to top. Season with salt and pepper.

A trade secret from Texas Roadhouse is to soak them in water for awhile before baking. Gives them an even creamier softer inside.

I love sweet potatoes so much. When I was growing up (in the south) we would poke with fork and then rub softened butter all over then bake on pan. Every 30 minutes we would take out of oven and rub skins with a butter stick. 😁 They were so good! Don’t use that much butter now! Lol

If you don't eat the skin, don't puncture/vent them - When they come out of the oven, you can peel the skin right off to reveal an intact SP ready to be devoured.

I tried this but unfortunately, it's 2020 and while taking out my aggressions, there was no sweet potato left to put in the oven :)

I always rub some olive oil and sea salt before baking them, why add sugar?!?!its already sweet

Heard a little bit of a Southern drawl when you said 'these go be good'😊 lol here in the south along with cinnamon and sugar we'll add mini marshmallows, same process add mini marshmallows place under a broiler for about 30 seconds and they go be good😅

Nice video! I am going to tell you what I do now that I am old. I wash my potatoes, and put them in a pot with a well fitting lid, and bake them until they are all cooked. Yes, I am that lazy... hahaha.
