People throw easily repairable things away all of the time. My first guess was wrong on this one but it did get repaired!

I'm a 60 yr old woman who is not one iota handy with electronics. I have a sony bravia TV that just stopped working. I did all the obvious fixes suggested by sony. Nothing was tossing it out when I ran across this video. I have a screwdriver and took the back off....looked for what I thought were capacitors(sp?) Put the hair dryer to suggestion am watching it crazy fix....I'm impressed. Thank you for doing what you more tv out of the landfill for now.

I just wanted to add my voice to the many, saying what you do is awesome. I've learned, partially out of necessity, that we give away a lot of our power and money when it is easy enough to help ourselves. That is what you're showing people. I've fixed a lot of things myself simply by trying. And most of the times they !were things I'm not experienced in or knowledgeable about. But the info was out there and I asked questions and researched and got it done. (Thank God!) My latest thing is converting a bathroom to an office. So far I've done the demo pretty much down to the studs and caped off all the plumbing in a way that will make it easy to go back if I ever want. I'm contemplating a small solar project w/battery to power my computers etc., so your info on that will come in handy for sure. Thanks for sharing with us!

You seldom post videos but when you do, for sure we have a lot to learn. Thanks a lot!

I have that exact same Samsung TV model. As soon as I saw the base it sat on, it was easy to figure out. The Samsung has a service replacement for a number of capacitors on the power board. After acquiring the TV, I've only had to replace two capacitors. One green one and the other was the huge capacitor that powers up the set. It's only 720p but it still produces a nice picture. This tv is actually quite heavy to pick up. That's how old this thing is.

You are amazing. I like these kind of videos but still think how near impossible it would be for me to do this. For example, I have no idea what flux is. However, I do learn and enjoy watching. Thanks.

It’s great that you fix so many broken tv’s but what do you do with them all?!!

A few years ago I had this similar problem with this tv. It also had bad caps on power board. The problem with the main board is a small capacitor. It's a small surface mount on the other side of the main board in between the two switch regulator ics. The 3.3 volts is not stable that causes the loud sound and messed up screen. I replaced that SM cap with a regular electrolytic. I actually have the video ony YouTube it's from 2017 July..

Very Nice job. I have been watching many TV repair videos, and you are one of the few I subscribe to NOW.
I just wish we could see more schematics to help us follow with the T/S of the problems.

Great to see otherwise wasted TV being saved. Would be interesting to see a deep dive and diagnostic, lucky guess that the chip was bad.

WTF! So i had a TV break just like this about a month ago. Replaced it and put the broken one in storage. Got on YouTube look to try to fix it couldn't find anything that helped. Well today this video was recommended by YouTube in my feed so I clicked on it. Within 5 minutes I was like why not try to see if this well it worked! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! And it only took a little piece of tape. Guess I got an extra TV now! ❤

I never thought of going to ebay for a kit, seeing them describe the symptoms that the kit can fix is a really useful thing. What sort of search terms did you use? Model number, repair kit, fault description, something else?

Reminds me of the TV I found in the trash... I was anxious to get it in and try and fix it wouldn't you know it worked just fine... I guess sign of the times TV's have gotten so cheap even perfectly working ones are thrown away...
