I love my US e36 M3 coupe. You nailed a lot of reasons, styling being the biggest. The e36 looks so cool and the e46 looks like a bar of soap.

I also much prefer the e36 interior, it feels ergonomically perfect and they don't wear as poorly as e46 interiors which all feel cheap to me.

The e36 also a bit more raw and exciting to drive, the lack of refinement makes it more visceral. I have driven a few e46 M3s, they are great cars and do perform better. However my heart gets pulled toward the e36 every time.

Nice Video! I'm in the U.S. and drive and E36 M3 sedan 5 speed. While it only has ~250hp it is an awesome car to drive and is a nice looking car. When I purchased it I considered the E46, but I was not willing to risk living w potential frame damage common on the E46. Currently the price of the E46 and the E36 in the U.S. are about the same.
