Hi, my electronic sensor reading close to the max (not max) while dipstick reads max (on N46N 320i). Dipstick to be trusted? since the electronic sensor might be old enough not to five accurate reading

Ok, i just do my oil change on my e90 328xi a month ago.. then a few days ago my oil light came on and it is still on. I went under the car to check for any leaks and i see nothingggg at all. In General i checked for any leaks and i saw nothing.
Took it to my mechanic he says i just need to reset the oil light. But im doubtful thats the reason because when i did my oil change a month ago, my oil light was on and when i did the oil change the light turned off but now its back.
Any thought please?

does your fluctuate while you are driving ? I have an e85 with this kind of digital dipstick and when i run the car to temperature while sitting still in the parking lot ( flat ground ) the oil level goes to full and it reads OK, but if i check the level after driving around for a while, the level fluctuates - even going to the last 2 out of 5 levels. thanks !

What about if doesn't read even if the engine is warm?? Thats whats happening to me right now, what could be the issue ??

Oh so if you’re very low they want you to drive it for a while first so you can wreck the motor before you can know the oil level

Why in gods name do people buy these cars? My dad owns 335i and we can’t keep up with the issues. Once you fix one thing another unrelated issue begins. It’s demoralizing. No dipstick should be a fing crime. It makes NO SENSE! Just increases the probability of severe engine damage. If sensor is bad, you’re risking thousands driving it. But you need to drive it to check the sensor reading. Trust me, stay far away from these cars
