I show you how to electronically check the oil in most BMW's

This oil also is great with newer BMW's with stop start technology as it clings to parts longer.

I appreciate the clarity of your explanation. I'm always surprised by the number of how-to videos that aren't clear.

According to the manual the two dash lines are the gauge for the oil level, the one to the left is the minimum and the one to the right is the max, going past that dash line on the right means that you are overfilling the engine

I LOVE my 128i convertible more than any possession I've ever loved, except my women. Anyway, no dipstick is dumb.

does your fluctuate while you are driving ? I have an e85 with this kind of digital dipstick and when i run the car to temperature while sitting still in the parking lot ( flat ground ) the oil level goes to full and it reads OK, but if i check the level after driving around for a while, the level fluctuates - even going to the last 2 out of 5 levels. thanks !

It's better drive for a while and then check the oil or turn on the car and immediately check the level?!

Could someone tell me why my gauge didn’t change when I added half a quart?

Why would BMW not stick with the old tried and true very simple, foolproof oil dipstick? What happens if the sensor becomes defective? Just guessing but I bet it would cost over $1000.00 to replace that oil sensor if it breaks. Sometimes new tech is just not needed.

What if the engine can’t start how do you check oil level? I think this is a very stupid idea where you can only check oil if engine is running
