Sticking to a healthy meal plan is one of the hardest but most important elements to keeping a great physique year round. When you are short on time, getting your meal prep down to a science can be even more challenging not to mention expensive. In this video, I show you a quick tip you can use to get your dinners in bulk (will last you 30 days or more) while removing all the time consuming meal prep you would normally need.

The secret is to use your local whole foods or healthy grocery store’s catering menu to choose your meals. Most of the time, the price to obtain a serving for 15 or more is far less than what it would cost if you were to buy your meals one at a time from the hot foods section of the store. In fact, I was able to purchase over 30 days worth of grilled chicken breast and sweet potatoes for just around one hundred dollars. When you consider that dinner is the most expensive part of any healthy meal plan, you realize just what a savings this can be.

Once you get your foods from the catering menu, all you have to do is package them in tupperware and freeze them for when you need them. For instance, I will set aside 30 servings of sweet potatoes and grilled chicken. My fibrous vegetables that make up an essential part of every dinner I eat will be made fresh or bought fresh if I am especially short on time and added to the dinner.

I will top the chicken with different sauces like a fresh basil marinara, citrus lime, cajun spice, etc and I’m off and running. Of course, I don’t have to eat the same meal of chicken and sweet potatoes every single damn night! I can purchase a tray of another protein source in place of the two chicken trays and do the exact same thing. It can be as varied as you like, just realize that the savings come from purchasing the meals of choice in bulk.

Meal plan prep is a skill that often gets in the way of people seeing long term fat loss and muscle gaining results and those that don’t. Why is that? Because the results you see are largely impacted by the foods that you put in your body. You cannot expect to build a high quality house using less than average materials. The same happens with your body. If you want to build a body that is strong and capable of anything you need to feed it properly.

I am a gamer. I've gamed since I was a teenager, and I especially love adventure games. For the longest time, this lifestyle led me to almost 300 lbs. However, after being inspired by Athlean X and wanting to play sports without losing my breath, I decided to take concepts I learned from gaming and apply them to my training. The first thing I learned was I love the idea of starting at a really low level, if you play RPG (role playing games), and leveling up to become the best version of your character. Instead of that character being a pixel on a screen, I decided that I was that character. Second thing was the different items you collected and how the adventures got harder as you progress in a game. Same thing with my training. As I'm leveling up, my training needs to get harder and more challenging in order to make progress. And thirdly, I like the achievements and goals you earn by completing a challenge. Same here with the Athlean challenges I've done. Now I weigh 188. Thanks Jeff!

This has to be the single best fitness tip I've ever seen. It was such an in your face solution for those people like myself that work crazy hours but want to eat clean.

Here's a hack if you want to measure. Get a scale, set the scale to the empty tupperware container so that it reads 0. Toss whatever you want in until its roughly the weight you want, remove, replace with an empty one and repeat. Measured portions in 0 extra time.

Great tip! Was able to go to my local Chargrill Charlie's ( Sydney, Australia) and get bulk grilled chicken, grilled lean beef balls and roasted sweet potato and ends up being around $5 a meal which is awesome for Australian prices!! Normally pay around $12 only this time I just have to order the day before and steam my own green veggies. Will last 2 weeks. Thanks Jeff!!

I finally found someone who understands a normal busy life stress. Thanks Jeff. My challenge is little sleep and eating when I drive. It's also hard to get energy when I drive so much. I found Jalapenos wake me up. I'm trying to replace the mountain dew. I do some exercise when the family watches a movie.

Hey Jeff, congratulations on the twins. Welcome to parenthood. I have two young children myself and where I come from we don't have the luxury of the catering shop that you have. But I have survived by doing my own thing. Question for you, can you please do a video on what you believe would be a great end of day stretch routine before hitting the sack? Hope all is well for you, your wife and your new babies....Mick..

Brilliant! Never knew ordering the "catering" versions of the food would be way CHEAPER! Thank you Jeff. There's a Whole Foods in my building complex so I will inquire about their catering menu to check out their prices! Great tip!!

This is an amazing idea! Thank you so much. I cook for my family every single day and this is a great idea for when I just need a break. I don’t have to feel guilty about my kids eating unhealthy food. They can still eat healthy while I take a break. I love it.

Personally, me and my family usually cook the meals at home. I rarely order or go out eating, but one thing that I usually do is cooking big meals that will give me at least for 3 times. And I separate them like you did in the fridge.

I know about this: that there’s an option to buy whole trays of food, but seeing it incorporated into meal prepping is amazing! Good job sir! Keep it up!
