My hard top works te same for the NC miata. Storage space when up and closed it fits perfectly

Doesnt use any trunk space because they made the trunk smaller permanently

I have an NC MX5... What is the difference? NC doesnt eat any boot space either. Only difference is the soft top storage compartment has soft padding compared to metal.

Can’t access that shelf when you put the top down tho. With the older NA/NB Miatas you can still access half of that shelf heh. Better design but not better access

Dont put anything in the 'storage space' he mentioned. You're going to forget and rip the cloth or warp the mechanism.
