I own one of these. I can confirm the cool things this guy is pointing out. This vehicle is one of the best cars ever made. Hands down.

Bought one 6 months ago for my wife . We have put on 10000 km in six months . Can’t wipe the smile off her face .

I have an NB MX5 and not much has changed since then. The recipe works. Light, well-balanced, and it has an awesome transmission that makes for a good time behind the wheel. Like a lot of "car guys" I dismissed them until I drove one. Then I got it, it's all about the joy of driving, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing is better than zipping down a curvy road in the fall with the top down and the heater keeping the lower half of your body warm. The first time I did this, I realized why guys in old British roadsters wore gloves.

I bought a 2023 MX-5 GT a few days ago. I was an owner of a 1968 MGB many years ago. I sold my MGB in the late 1970's and I have missed it ever since. I couldn't be more pleased than I am with my new Mazda. It is so refined compared to my old MG, yet it still retains the basic raw driving experience. If you like true classic sports cars then you should buy an ND Miata.

How can anyone actually make a review this good.

My mother had a mk.1 MX-5 (1991) in British Racing Green. She loved zipping around in that thing. Was parked outside year-round. My brother and I 'stole' it while she was on holiday, had the dull paintwork machine polished, the wheels refurbed and a lovely (but expensive) chocolate-coloured mohair soft top fitted. Finished off with a proper clean inside and in the engine bay, plus a service. It looked great! Mum was blown away and drove that little car until she was no longer strong enough to manoeuvre it (no PAS). I was very impressed when I drove it. Far more enjoyable than a, what, 90hp car had any right to be.

27:19 Having bought our ND2 in the winter, I can tell you there are fewer joys greater than a top-down cruise on a brisk day with the heat on and seats cooking. Feels great!

I watch a lot of car reviews. You are very good at covering the important information and still being entertaining. I appreciate your style, good info, no wasting time on opinions and fluff. It’s telling that you start with the mechanicals instead of the exterior of the car as so many reviewers do. I am a car guy, and I care more about the mechanicals than the styling cues. Excellent review!

Miata fan here (owned 2 - NA and NC), so I really appreciate this one. As far as the antenna getting hit in the Car wash. Generally most people in the Miata community don't use automated car washes. Even when I lived in a apartment, I never used an automatic car wash. I used a coin-op sprayer.

Miata base was $13.8K in 1989, that's about $33K inflation adjusted. Miata base in 2022 is about $28K. So the base car is LESS expensive today, than it was on introduction in 1989 when you take inflation into account.

Finally, they aren't really that slow. 0-60 is under 6.0 Seconds (5.7-5.9 seconds, in C&D, MT, R&T). It's not a V8 killer, but it's not bad, and all Miatas feel even faster than they are.

I know that you are mostly a Toyota/Lexus guy, but I really appreciate you reviewing a car that I am considering purchasing. You do mechanical reviews better than any reviewer. Thanks.

Wow… never seen a car reviewer like this. Excellent mechanical insight and not the same old generic spec-sheet talk like erryone else! 👍

I bought a new one of these earlier this year (the RF variant cause it rains a lot here) and I'm absolutely in love with it. It will do anything you want it to do, surprising amount of space in the boot, amazing temperature control, it can be loud and quick when you want it to be but it'll also cruise quietly and not put a hole in your wallet for fuel. The sense of speed from sitting so low is insane. I've driven Ferraris and Lambos round tracks but the MX-5 is just as fun in a different way, very light and easy to change direction. Yes it doesn't have a screaming V8 / V10 but to me it sounds amazing when I put my foot down, even driving within the speed limit it manages to put a huge smile on my face.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I love the dial. I don’t like touchscreen leaves, smudges and smears. I like it clean and crisp and I’m able to meet maintain just that with the dial kudos Mazda.

I've owned an NC for 10 years and counting. Great sound, direct steering feel, cornering prowess, sporty stick shift, low driving position ... what a compelling package! I paid €7, 000 for it back in 2013 and have been using it as a third car along with my sedan and coupe.

Hey what a coincidence, I just bought a 2007 MX-5 with 9000 miles on it last Saturday. Love it.

There is a button to open the trunk from the outside. It's on the upper part of the license plate area towards the right side. Pretty easy to miss unless you know.

MX-5s (Miatas) are awesome little cars, my favorite sports car. Since 1970 I have owned a Mustang Mach 1, a Corvette, a Supra, a 300ZX, 4 different Honda S2000s and I now own my 6th Miata, a Polymetal grey 2021 RF Club with the BBS, Brembo, Recaro package. This one is a keeper! Great review, love your channel.

My first car in 1977, was a 1966 MG midget. This Mazda MX5 reminds me of that car, but only a million times better. Now that I'm retired, I've been looking for an old MG, but one in decent shape is not a lot less than decent used MX5 or even an older Miata. I really enjoy watching the Car Care Nut's videos. Keep up the excellent work!

Speaking as a Mazda fanatic this was awesome and 200% entertaining. Many many thanx from Sweden. Illinois is actually more Swedish than you think as more Swedes lived in Chicago than Stockholm at one point. Really dig this cool no BS, hands on utuber . Keep it up bro😃
