My hand sewing has become quite horrible over the years. Fortunately, the videos I've found since getting my sewing machine this summer have helped me complete projects and improve my hand sewing.

I can't think of projects that would involve doing the quilting by hand, off the top of my head. Although my first project for my sewing machine was making a sewing machine cover. I planned to redo it, making a quilted cover next time.

There are a lot of potholder tutorials, so I'm hoping this hand quilting video is a prelude to something interesting, like a quilted jacket. I look forward to Tuesdays because of your new videos.

How do you get the purple marking line out of fabric once finished with the stitching?

My batting is a little thicker, do you have any advice on how to do smaller stitches with the rocking technique?

Another video I watched said not to use knots, as they will eventually pop thru when the quilt is washed. She said to use a couple of back stitches. Have you ever had that problem?

I am doing big stitch quilting on a quilt and I am wanting to just quilt around the squares and rectangles of the quilt top. BUT I am wondering if it would look better by just doing this to show ONLY on the top of the quilt. Is there a way that I can do that? Do I just have to do everything normal except not go through the very last layer (backing)?
