The fight for "the narrative" in Georgia is heating up fast. NATO warmongers need the gullible Western publics to believe that the 2008 between Georgia and Russia was started by evil Russia alone. They cannot tolerate the real version in which it was the Georgian Government that fired the first shots, as established by an authoritative EU report.

Now, Georgia itself is thinking of breaking the narrative by issuing an apology for the attack on South Ossetia. In conjunction with the upcoming elections in October, this puts the neocons on high alert.

Here in the UK we're no longer in the EU, but it doesn't stop us sneering at others for 'imperfect' democracies. Places like Russia and Venezuela constantly get snide remarks (in media articles and comment sections).

Meanwhile, we have a new government with a huge parliamentary majority, one of the biggest ever - and only *20%* of the electorate voted for them!
Of those that could be bothered to vote at all, *66%* voted for other parties.

Yet they have a massive 'majority' and think it is all perfectly legit, and fine for them to sneer at other countries.

Russian speakers are not a minority in Ukraine but they are in Georgia. Georgia made a mistake by not protecting minority rights and running them over with Georgian tanks and hence Russia had to step in and they lost South Ossetia which need not have happened if they had acted responsibly.

The war in Georgia started in 1980-1990s when Georgian president Gamsahurdia was a radical nationalist. After the war Russia was invited as a peacekeeper. In 2008 S. Ossetia was attacked by Saakashvili (who was installed through Rose revolution). Many Russian peacekeepers were ki lled. Russia had to react just like with Ukraine in 2022.
