after keeping in mind how you were saying this work and seeing how it works
according to your system your system is for simplifying algebraic fraction is overall wrong when your simplifying Algebraic fractions you must divide by the greatest common factor, the greatest common factor is 2 so we must divide all the whole numbers and variables within the fraction by 2 4/2=2, 2 is the new power, 4x/2=2x, 6/2=3 the new power, 2x/2=x, 10/2=5 this makes the algebraic fraction x^2–2x/ x^3-x-5 which is simplified but most of it can be further simplified by 2 after, it is possible to divide all the whole numbers and variables by 4 from the start to simplified it the most. but if we must do what your saying in gcse mathes then i will do it, i do find it interesting seeing how to simplify algebraic fractions this way but i rather do it the right way.

why do people think what your saying is correct? how do you think that is the right way to do it?

Your factorising video does not explain hjow to factorise x^2 + 4x

Although I understand x times itself is x^2 and x times 4 = 4x I still feel a bit confused. The solution x(x +4) makes sense but could you help with a useful strategy?
