Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster - Chapter 2 - Guadosalam - Wall and Switches Puzzle

This puzzle can be very confusing and tbh I think it might be glitched with how the wall sometimes doesn't reset. The easiest way to open the door is:
- Activate the two switches in the gaps.
- Run towards the wall and LET IT HIT YOU!
- Activate the 3rd switch.
- Push the button that opens the door.

I did this a different way, its kinda weird. I didn't go in that little upper alcove at all to unlock the door
