There's more comments on Xbox enhancements than I imagined so let me clear that up. YES, the HD Remaster IS Xbox One X Enhanced as it runs at a 4K.
This wasn't something actually 100% confirmed until recently (some physical copies did not have the enhancement label and the game was not on Microsoft's list of enhanced games until recently) & I frankly underestimated peoples interest in whether or not a game was enhanced. I'll be sure to rectify this in the future. For all intents & purposes, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is enhanced & I'll be sure to include this in the port review of the game.

I like the faces in PS2 the most. I have it on ps3, ps4, and Switch.

Thank you for this! It's rare to find port reviews that have actually seem like they've done the proper research into it. It's so great knowing what the tiny differences and features between them are, not just a technical breakdown of the graphics. These videos are an absolute Godsend, considering I am starting a new series on Final Fantasy. You're saving me so much time and making the videos look the best they can, so thank you!

I had never played the ps2 version but as soon as I saw the faces on the HD version I knew there was something not right about it

I really dislike how much more child-like Tidus'es face became in the hd version. It goes as far as altering his design since its quite drastic, he looks a lot more anime and younger where as in the ps2 version Tidus had more personality and more maturity in his face. Big deal-breaker for me.

If every developer in Final Fantasy history told me it was pronounced Tee-dus I would still pronounce it Tie-dus.

Fun fact! The English voice actor for Wakka in FFX is John DiMaggio, who also plays Bender in Futurama and Jake in Adventure Time!

Great review of all systems - very informative. The ps2 version will always be the classic best, but I do love that I can enjoy this game on the move now with switch! Feels like I get to relive a little of my childhood!

Sometimes I forget why I subscribed to someone but after seeing the sheer amount of info and research you did I can see why I did.

This makes me feel a lot better about re-buying this for my XBone. Reading comments on Microsoft's store made it sound like that version was based on phone port or something. So good to have ACCURATE info. Thanks! Feeling really nostalgic for this game lately and you've been a huge help.

I can't stress how much I appreciate it when people look at and inform people how good/bad a game may be on other systems comparatively. Cuz not everyone is a PC gamer (i.e. me) so while it's nice that the PC version is *"best"* it's also nice hearing how well the other versions stack up too.

I love the PS2 models, HD ports make them look like they used The Sims 4 to create them.

pc with a ps2-face mod would be the perfect FFX.
not on the field, but the non video cutscenes thou.

The lack of skipping cutscenes can be a drag in some parts of this game.
As much as I really love the characters and combat in this game it can get a bit annoying having to listen to so much dialogue that isn't really needed to hear, read on repeat playthroughs.
Yes characters even those little screen time npcs, enviroments, lore is key to a good rpg but on repeat runs it can be a bit of a pain in the ass to see them again and not skip or speed through them.
I'm one of those guys who likes to repeat games even rpgs with certain builds or low level runs and see how far I can get without having to grind or use strong/counter items.

This is a great video, thanks for mentioning all these details to us. I prefer the PC version with the mod but I don't always get the luxury of playing at home alot these days. I do wish the Switch version ran a lil better, it looks like a good port regardless but OUCH that price even on Digital is a bit much since I've replayed this so many times on ps2 and PC. But I do strongly recommend this game to first timers of Final Fantasy or people who just got into FF.

Have fun ladies and gentlemen.

Great review, I ended up buying the Switch version and as most that I agree that having the boosters wouldn't hurt the game I'm very happy with the experience I'm having in this version. I play both docked and undocked and honestly I have nothing to complain about.

After sinking 60 hours into the switch version without even noticing, I can't ever imagine playing the game anywhere else. Played in handheld mode probably 90% of the time. Just call me Tidus, because it was an absolute dream!

Welcome to 2021, where people actually don't care bout the cutscenes and rather skip them to move on with the story lol. Man in my days on the PS2 era, we were just craving for all that sheer graphical quality and gorgious CG. It was a new revolunary experience for the new hardware and it was sheer eye candy to us.

Very thoughful and well documented analysis. I enjoyed it. As a sidenote, these games are rendered at 4K on Xbox One X.
