M.2 SATA vs M.2 NVME PCIe SSDs - Whats The Difference? How Fast Are They?

Great vid! Just wanted to say if you're using Win7 then youre stuck with m.2 sata, however i heard there is a workaround for this but involves adding drivers to your windows iso/image file BEFORE installing windows. I haven't tried it, so I can't elaborate.
And also, some laptops(E.g. Gen6 Intel)only have notches for m.2 sata, even though they came with Win10. In other words, don't assume it's m.2 NVMe capable, because it came with Win10 and has a m.2 slot. I had this problem with my $2, 000 MSi GT72 6QD.

Can you explain to me, as I have noticed between the M2 (SATA or NVME) the end that slots on the motherboard, they are different. SATA has two recesses and NVME has one recess.
Does this make a difference or matter when buying one?

Nice video: Im hesitating to change or not my sata 2.5 crucial mx500 primary drive to an nvme sn750 or similar. I have a ryzen 5 1600, 16 gb ram, gtx 1060 and a mother b350 gaming rog strix. The main use of the pc is video conversion and ocasional gaming. Not professional edition. Do you think it is worth to change my ssd to a fast nvme? or change my cpu to a ryzen 5 3600 or similar?

Thanks.. good explanation. Quick question. I also use Blackmagicdesign speed test on an iMac running Mojave, but when I use it it keeps rerunning the test continuously rather than running once and stopping like yours does. This makes it hard to take a snapshot of the screen to record the test results, since it restarts the test automatically. Is there a setting I am missing to have it test once then stop?

These tests are always load times which m.2 and regular ssd load games the same. The biggest difference comes from stutter reduction/loading textures using a m2.
