Hey! They are MegaBytes per second not megabits per second. There is a difference between the both.

also, it looks like you're mixing up megabits vs megabytes. sata 3 is 600 megabytes/sec, not 600 megabits/sex. that's an factor of 8 difference..

I have a question.. my 4 year old asus vivobook r542uq laptop has a ssd port that looks like a m.2 nvme compatible but my samsung 970 evo plus isn't working (not showing) is there any way to make it work in it?

I've got through 3 M.2 drives to realise that's my second M.2 slot on my motherboard only support SATA. I didn't realise you can get 2 types of drives for SATA I thought it was only 2.5 inches. Quick question will I notice any difference in performance when transferring data with a M.2 Sata to a traditional 2.5" sata drive? I was looking at buying a drive with data transfer in mind. Between SSD and NVME me in real terms you won't notice much difference but I would've thought of data transfer you will especially when shifting GBs of files? Even the big boys couldn't explain this on their channels you have smashed it thank you and I've learnt a lot today lol

Megabits or MegaBytes? I think it's MegaBytes, but nice video. So sata m2 is like standard 2.5 inch ssd speed, does it have DRAM cache, and is that important?

Hi, as a video editor, will a normal SSD suffice to improve my timeline scrub responsiveness for 4K footage @150mbps. Im considering to buy an M.2 NVMe chip, so it will replace my Samsung Normal EVO ssd. So should i use the NVMe for my 4K footage edit drive and use the normal SSD for my OS and edit app ? Or vice versa ? Im not worried about render times and all. I just want better timeline scrubbing and responsiveness/playback. PS: I work only offline edits as in with 1080p proxies.

OK. So SATA and NVMe are the two different kind of M.2 drives available. Now where does PCIe come into the picture? If PCIe is the socket which accommodates either one, there must be PCIe SATA drives and PCIe NVMe drives. Is the difference between the two drives nothing more than the way the way each one attaches to the PCIe socket? I look forward to your reply.

You have created a technical video with missing or bad technical info. 'mb' stands for milibits while you should be using MB for MegaBytes, you are continously saying 'megabits' when speaking about 'megabytes', there are typos in the presentation, PCIe section misses the version of interface you are refering to, you didn't metion how many PCIe lines NVMe uses, but only speaking what full x16 interface is capable of... and possibly there are more mistakes that I didn't even noticed due to lack of my technical knowledge. I was trying to gain some, but in the middle of this video I gave up as the teacher is not really prepared to teach. Sorry, but this video is a crap. Should be removed, corrected and uploaded again.
