I own this exact vehicle and can tell you it's a great car. Plenty of room, superb combination of handling and ride comfort (although I find the driver's seat uncomfortably hard after a while), library quiet, fully equipped, and more interesting styling than ever before. It drives more like an Accord than an old ES, without the harshness and noise of the Honda. I will say that mine was built in the U.S. and is NOT built as well as the ES I had that was made in Japan (squeaks, condensation inside, noisy moonroof) and will probably not buy it when my lease is up.

Hi Dave, I always mention the Lexus ES to friends who find the Toyota Avalon too rough on the eyes.

This car is a grand slam for it's _intended purpose._ I have one, and it's incredible to live with every day. SO easy to drive, so quiet and smooth, the miles seriously melt away. I get OVER 40 mpg, EVEN cruising at or near 80 mph. It's crazy. The STANDARD safety features (adaptive cruise, lane-keep, blind spot monitor, auto-emergency braking) make it a great choice.

The only weakness is no AWD, and that should be coming in about a year from now

I makes a change to see a review of a lexus, without it being compared to German cars. We have an IS300h and
would look at a later IS300h, or an ES When it comes to replacing it. In three years, the only fault I've had, was a spark plug.

How much will the batteries cost to replace in a few years I wonder. Maybe so much that no one will want to buy it second hand.

Great review. But looks bland! Just seems like any other car w/o the WOW factor like OMG GURRRLLLL, look at that sweet ride.
