when i was in school in india abt 15 years ago the indian government introduced a new subject called "environmental education" & it was one of the subjects that it was compulsory to pass in or we would be detained for that year....so yes the past two decades india has been actively trying to do better along with being a developing country...& i live in a state "Sikkim" in the northeast of India in between Nepal & Bhutan, we are a fully organic state everything grown here is organic & without chemicals & we're also called the green state of India, , , i think this next generation is more aware of environmental issues..

China is fighting desertification in the north. They are planting a belt of trees along the Gobi Desert, to help prevent dust storms in Beijing.

Here in Indian every Colleges has some tree planting events were students go out and plant trees

In China we have one national holiday called "green planting day" when everyone goes out planting trees.

The newly elected gov in India in 2019 decided to plant around 1.25 billion trees around the national highway in next 5 years...
This is the great initiative taken by Indian gov..👍

In India, it has became a practice in donating plants and tree saplings for most functions and parties. In my wedding, we kept hundreds of tree saplings for free to the guests who attend. Happy to see most of the plants are planted and became a tree in my friends houses.

In india u have to take permission from government to cut tree even in your own yard....
If u cut the tree without taking permission and anybody complained u, you can get jailed and fine maximum times nobody complaine if somebody is cutting a tree in his own
