Body camera footage shows DUI arrest of Florida man on lawnmower

A man with prior DUI convictions on his record was arrested again after he was caught riding a lawnmower on a Florida highway.

The incident took place August 5 along Highway 316 in Marion County. Body camera footage released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office shows a deputy approaching the driver, Paul Burker, a Fort McCoy resident.

Honestly I feel kinda sorry for the guy. Obviously it's dangerous what he did and I can't say it's right, but I wonder if he's just on hard times and maybe needs support and is having trouble finding it. People like that sometimes need a neighbor to swing by with a pizza and spend the day with you and talking about the good days.

Poor policing there. The guy admitted he had been drinking too much and said he can't walk as well as he was being cooperative. The cop shouldn't have played games and arrested him.

Basically Florida DUi law is written so broadly being intoxicated and in physical control of anything that can be called a vehicle like a bicycle, lawnmower or trailer is a crime anywhere in the state.
