It has a M43 camera mount which is an industry standard; so this is not unique to Ubiquiti. It is also using Olympus lens which again is not unique to Ubiquiti. Not sure what other lens you would be able to get besides the two that Olympus is making for these cameras. This will definitely be for large companies with deep pockets though; not for mom and pop or residential users (unless they too have deep pockets).

So far my Unifi experience has been good. I like the new innovation for hardware. But would love to see better software and improvements. Maybe I'm missing it, but unifi could and should easily be turned into a security product as well. Why can't I get after hour alerts for door access and camera movement notifications yet. Basic no. Frills Wi-Fi cameras have those features already. Why is this lacking in Ubiquiti in 2022?

The normal unifi stuff is years and years out of stock but we can make a €3000 camera that nobody wants. 🤦

The Olympus 17mm f1.2 pro lens itself is one of my preferred lenses for personal photography and video… its fantastic. It retails for $1200 alone. I’d like to see Ubiquity offer the camera without the lens for those M43 users that likely have a few spare lenses to mount with this or, save cost by buying the same 17mm f1.2 used on eBay for half the cost.

@1:13 are they zooming in on a live footage or a recording?
For me that is the dealbreaker. I do not have someone monitoring my business live and its important for me to zoom in closely on past recordings.
Would appreciate some answers.

That lens looks like it's a Olympus micro four thirds lens so I would bet that is what they're trying to leverage because they are light and inexpensive.

Ubiquiti needs to chill. Eheir existing produtcs are always out of stock, the las thing we need right now are new things that will be out of stock aswell.

Manual says video res is 3840x2160 "4k" so thats 8 MP but they list the sensor as 10 MP, maybe thats only avail internally or as snapshot

While Im personally not interested in this camera, have no use, I am curious as its an Olympus lens mount...wonder if we can expand beyond 2 options of lenses

This and the PTZ camera makes me believe they'll soon be targeting the enterprise within the next few years. This is not a small-business type item.

I'll run an experiment. Buy this AI DSLR, install it outside above garage, then have neighbor security camera only point and watch my AI DSLR and see how long it takes for my AI DSLR to either be vandalized or stollen.

I hope they will stop making expensive cameras and start putting more effort to make protect more industry standard. I am a ubiquiti fun and deployed many of their equipment but seeing releasing new things and not improving other their OS just kills me..
