Thank you for a good review and comparisons. I finally this spring had a client that needed this camera to get the shots and recognitions he wanted. The G4 Pro and AI Pro just were not enough for the distance and conditions to nab license plates. The LR version has been the ticket and he’s very happy.

great review - ok obviously you are a fan of UI too, but the clarity and the low light picture are amazing. Can you mention about how far away is the camera from the target area of focus? I was hoping to learn what is the real usable distance. thank you!

Wow this camera is impressive. Makes the Ai Pro, which as you mentioned is as phenomenal camera that I have deployed many times, look like a ring camera.

Quick correction, the Moon is a full sun lit exposure. Definitely bounces lots of light.
At iso 25, 000 a full moon reflects very close to the same amount of light as a full sun at 100iso for say landscape photos.

i think you should try replacing the lens with something even wider 24mm lens. ps: at 1:50 you said apsc as aspc

Cheers Clay, its good, low light looks alot better, be interesting to know how good it is at night with just IR and UK reflective plates, as good as it is its still a 2k+ camera due to the lenses so still going to be a smaller audience

My G4 pros are useless at night if a vehicle is in motion . If I win the lottery I’ll change everyone of them to this version . Well unless other companies offer better options

I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw "Focus Adjust". I've wanted that on the G4 PTZ, but I don't see it. Is that exclusive to the AI DSLR?

Any thoughts on how well this (with the long distance lens) would pickup license plates on a driveway/entry point at a 76 foot direct distance from camera to vehicle down at the entry point? So 30 feet up a wall, 70 feet from the wall, leaving approximately a 76 foot camera to license plate location (hypotenuse) if that makes sense. I've been waiting and waiting for someone to review this camera. Thanks!

How is the field of view on the wide 17mm compared to an AI Pro? I have an AI pro that I’m considering replacing with this, but I’m very happy with the current field of view. I just want better facial and license plate recognition out in front of my house. The current AI Pro can’t grab it without a drastic optical zoom that narrows the field of view too much.

what do you sell UI cameras at? any markup or exactly the same price as online?

We have issues with people stealing cameras so I'd be very hesitant to have this anywhere public without a cage.

I would love it if they would sell this thing without the lens and let us add our own I know why they won't but would still Love that to be able to put a super telephoto on top of a big office building that cause watch courtyards and such from so far above or other I di have to say I love that thing and wish I could afford it.
