What video editing mistake did you use to make? How did you overcome it?
Let's share some knowledge!

Thank you for this video, Herman. It made me laugh a few times.😄 It's always fun to learn new things. I'm glad I've been following most of these tips. A tip I use a lot is copying and pasting effects from one clip to another, provided they look or sound similar. It saves a lot of time!✌

My favourite tip is the organization! So important – I guess that's why it's #1 ;) To this list I would add not writing a quick retrospective at the end of the project. It's what happened, what went well, what went wrong, and learnings for next time. You can even use it to explain something to a client, and encourage better feedback.

Awesome, Herman. And there are strong correlations between video editing habits and, quite frankly, any creative endeavor. Like you, the one I learned early on was the organization thing. I now use very descriptive folders and bins, and also label-date my filed names, i.e. "221222-R2 Timeline.docx". Thanks for all these pointers.

You shoud try Davinci REsolve with Live Save and auto backup. And press D to deactivate a clip.

Very well presented video. Organizing files it was something that I used to neglect a lot before. Now I think I am struggling with sound design.

Nice tutorial, thanks for sharing! I am a new content creator and artlist user. As a new creator it is sometimes hard to find the right SFX. I loved the SFX in this video. Request: would you be able to list the names of SFX used in this video, that i can use as inspiration for my own content? Hopefully you will consider adding this to your description many thanks!

Hey Herman, thanks for this video! I was taking notes the whole time. I counted 9 mistakes listed in the vid instead of 10 - just as a heads up

how do you guys deal with producers constantly asking for changes in the edit while at the same time, challenging your creativity with their changes? I'm currently working in corporate edits and I've been getting mixed messages about being creative with the edit (by my bosses) and following the script/ tending to what the producers want.

it's a really frustrating process.
