Hey saw this on the F150 forum, but I'm not a member yet. I just finished my 2011 with the same issue. The exhaust manifold warp with the turbo heat, the new ones are stronger. Mine had 2 broken off studs, the one behind the turbo has a lot of meat to hold down, it was broken off in the head, had to have someone come get it out. The manifold is about $60, gasket is $40 I think, change all the studs and nuts too. It's a real SOB. I just did my right side, the left is also making that noise, so I guess I get to do it again... Good luck.

My 2014 is now making that sound on the right side.

sounds like the turbo wheel.. Pull off the intake pipe and check the turbine shafts and exhaust wheel for play, or physical damage..

Exhaust manifold just had it done...exact same noise. About 500 dollar per side.
