2011 F150 3.5 Ecoboost Weird Moan

This Ecoboost has a noticeable induction moan between 1800 and 2100 RPM. Failed bypass valve diaphragm.

Sounds like the exact issue my truck is having. Wasn’t sure if it was turbo related or maybe 4x4 vacuum hub related. Gonna have to give this fix a try!

In a F150 eco there is a aux vacuum pump behind the drivers headlight. Its purpose is to maintain vacuum that the turbos may draw away from the braking system. In 2013 (? I believe) they rectified this problem and did away with that pump.

I have a 2015 3.5 Ecoboost f150 started making what i would describe as same noise

On a customers ford 2011 f150 3.5 ecoboost, the sound would come from the air filter intake box. I suppose the airfilter was vibrating when turbo will make pressure and then blow it off. Getting that blow off air into the intake box.

About to figure out this problem for sure, if it's the air filter vibrating or turbo blow off issue?

Pull your headlight out and pump is right there its easy to change

were you able to find service parts other than the turbosmart upgrade?
