Fantastic job on explaining the storm and the forecast! I learned more about hurricane forecasting with this video than I have watching years of local news forecasting.

Wouldn’t mention this on someone’s personal post but since it is in the title and it’s a professional post… the contraction ‘it’s’ ALWAYS means ‘it is’ so the title actually reads ‘Tropical Storm Ian & it is Possible Track’. If you want to show possession, the pronoun is simply ‘its’ just like ‘his and hers’ no apostrophe in any of them. With the apostrophe’ in this word (it) it only ever and always means ‘it is’. Substitute those words in whatever you are writing and you will never again be confused as to which to use. This doesn’t apply to a person’s name or to other nouns the apostrophe in those words does indeed make it possessive.

Live north of Destin. Opal was my first hurricane experience. Lost our sailboat when hurricane Michael hit Panama City. Time to start tying things down.

I remember when The Weather Channel had coverage like this
I remember when Weather Underground had coverage like this
Now it's you guys. Please stay good and stick to the weather 😁

I was curious as to why you feel that the GFS model is more likely to verify, especially since it seems to be on an island by itself as most of the other models have ticked back to the east to varying degrees ? Is there science behind your thoughts or is it sort of a hunch or gut feeling? This is what makes weather fascinating to me, especially tropical weather. I was sort of thinking that it would be challenging for Ian to cross through that wind shear without being directed to the NE . Also if it begins to move in the same direction as the shear wouldn't that negate some of the weakening that is forecast prior to landfall ?

Please do a graph of the historical lows since the beginning of record keeping. It's not the record high temperatures that scare me, it's the regular low temps 10 degrees above average that are frightening.

*TEXAS....Brace yourself* ! . Once Ian hits the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, it will take a path to it's warmer waters. *My opinion* .
