13 Days in Vietnam on a Budget

Honestly, this video wasn't even supposed to exist.

We came here with the intention of making a 3 days in Hanoi and Saigon, ya know covering the capital and the biggest city, but as soon as we got here, we looked at each other and decided that obviously we gotta take a crazy trip all the way across this country and see the whole darn thing from top to bottom.

That's the thing about Vietnam - it just sucks you in, there's no fighting it.

We've got our usual $100 USD per day budget, and our adventure starts in Hanoi. We’re going to be taking trains and boats and smaller boats and motorbikes and whatever else we can find as we work our way down to Saigon over the next 2-ish-weeks.

We never watch videos longer than 12-15 minutes, 19 if they are REALLY well done. When I tell you that we posted up like we were watching Lisa and Josh's Excellent Adventure and enjoyed the whole thing in one sitting I am not joking. It was the perfect mix of your personalities, good writing, and visual interest/description of where you went.

It's like watching actors only better because you seem like basically normal people enjoying each other and life. So good

I'm only 7 minutes into the video, but I had to stop and comment about how much I'm enjoying/appreciating your editing style, your commentary, and the overall enthusiasm for Vietnam. As someone who hasn't been back to Vietnam in over a decade, I am vicariously living through the both of y'all.

Pros: excellent intro that wrapped me in and had me sticking around, great editing throughout, a lot of personality and individuality compared to other youtubers. Love it!

Hi Lisa & Josh, I honestly lost count of how many times I watched this video. First of all, you inspired my husband and I to spend a month in Vietnam with my 18 years old son - we are flying in 40 days! Secondly, you guys are really amazing! I love the humor, honest opinion about the experiences you've had and the chemistry between the two of you. I have a lot of fun watching your videos. Anyhow, after Vietnam we are flying to Japan, so needless to say I am also watching all your saga there. Thanks for all your hard-work to make your trips an inspiration for us.

I spent 10 days in Vietnam last year and this reminded me of all the things I loved about it! Also love that you show the highs and the lows, no need for the fake YouTube facade here - travelling has its less amazing days, that's just life!

Planning to visit Vietnam as it's my BF's home, clicked on this video at random and wasn't expecting to watch it all. A vlog has never given me such wanderlust. So incredibly entertaining and authentic, you two make the stressful side of traveling such an exciting adventure. Definitely calmed my nerves <33

Thank you for this reminder of one of the best countries I have ever visited - the smells, tastes, people and scenery of Vietname. Time to do it all again methinks.

Such a great video. My husband and I just planned to watch a little bit at a time, but ended up watching the entire video. Such high quality content and editing. And I do appreciate the honest reactions to things you experience. Love the long form videos you guys are doing. But darn it, you kept me up way past my bedtime!

I've lived in Vietnam for almost 2 years now. 1 year in Saigon and almost a year in Hanoi. I gotta say, you did Vietnam proud. I've been to everyplace you went. That small, peaceful, non-motorbikey place in Hanoi is not West Lake. It is Truc Bach... where I live. It's too bad you met the shitty grab drivers in Hue and the rude, pushy women at Ben Thanh market (I loathe that place). I watched your whole 2 hour video in 2 sittings. I love Vietnam.

This is your first video that I watched. Just what I wanted to find for my Vietnam travel dream itch! (Haven't been there yet). What an experience you guys had! I love your down-to-earth approach. I also love how you guys are all about *the experience* and not yourselves, which is not all that common with many travel YouTubers, especially the couples. As a foodie, I appreciate your lavish focus on the food you eat! Very solid production and great choices for music, tastefully used. You have earned my subscription!

Just loved this one. It was a long show, but it was totally worth watching. It brought back so many memories of trips from years ago. One of the best travelogues for people going to Vietnam I’ve seen. Cheers guys just love this one.
