My grandparents went through this. Being Vietnamese I here these stories from my grandpa who was a doctor for soldiers. Sometimes I don’t want to believe that such people could go through all this😢. But I’m thankful that my family was safe and built this life for me to live in. Sadly my great grandfather didn’t make it and I never met him. I wish I could have met him but I’m glad most of my family made it out of there.❤❤❤

My grandfather used to be a pilot in South Vietnam, after the war ended. My grandfather's friend still followed the bourgeoisie. When it was discovered, the new government massacred my grandfather's friend's family. They were once very close, but that is all in the past. I just want to say one thing: war is very cruel, there is only pain and loss. Independence and freedom are the most important thing!

I’m from southern of Vietnam and this is one of the best day in Vietnam history tbh, we have been through everything, my grandmother was killed by ARVN ( south Vietnam army), my grandfather used to be their soldier but he deserted and joined the north army, now it’s time for our country to reunite!
