are you sure that you can shift any of the segments? the fundamental theorem should give y-values relative to which y value you started with

Are you prospective applicants? I got asked to differentiate and then integrate a triangle curve. Then I got asked to graph what happens to the blood concentration of an injected drug over time. In another interview I had to figure out some population genetics stuff. I later found out that these kind of questions used this this thing called a hardy Weinberg equation, or something. In the final interview I got asked standard questions on my PS. I also got asked how snake bites/toxins worked

I got asked something similar in my cambridge university (uk) medical interview last December. I got an offer btw. :)
