Marriage was constituted and made sacred by the church to protect women. A husband's first duty is to protect his wife and family.

Why *should* a man marry a woman is a different question from why *do* men marry women. With regard to the first question, Liz is absolutely correct in that, in a metaphysical sense, the marriage between man and woman reflects Christ’s relationship with the Church. When properly ordered it is a relationship that edifies and is life giving to both the man and woman, both physically, in the fruitful rearing of children, and spiritually, as the complementary natures of husband and spouse harmonize their lives together. 99% of men probably aren’t actually thinking of their relationship with their spouse in this intellectual way, but how many men *live out* their relationship can be seen to fulfill and serve this very purpose through their marriage regardless of whether they are actively thinking about it. Actively intending to serve this purpose helps to reduce corrupting frictions that may arise from time to time.

Men generally do not get married to represent Christ's relationship to the church. But the union does represent Christ's relationship to the church. Men get married to help them not be permiscuous and to have a companion for life and to have children. 😊

I love Liz, she’s a beautiful and intelligent woman . But I don’t think any conservative really understands the risks of marriage and divorce anymore . You can be Michael Jordan, Tom Brady or Elon Musk, just like them you will probably get divorced. In some states they have policies called Permanent Alimony . You pay it until you die. And you can even be forced to take out a life insurance policy so you they keep getting money after you die. Divorce rate is high . Most divorces are initiated by women . Child support payments can be manipulated to be extremely high . If an average man gets divorced chances are he will never be able to retire and he will work himself to the bone until he dies . It’s like Skydiving when there’s only a 40% chance your Parachute will work. And for those who don’t get divorced they can be trapped in a marriage with someone like Jada Pinkett Smith .
