The best thing you can do is pack light. All you really need is 3 pairs of clothes. Most hotels have laundry machines, so you don't need to pack much. And you can buy whatever you need if you find yourself lacking. Japan is a lot more fun when you're not hauling around a heavy pack or dragging a roller bag around.

I'm currently planning to visit Japan during the fall season and all the planning really has me stressed out but this packing video together with your other travel videos has given me an idea of what to expect about traveling and what to do (first time going internationally)

Finally a packing video that doesn't make me feel bad for using a checked bag + carry on suitcase! I loves the tips, and will use them for my trip to Europe this autumn

Suggestion for laundry on the go… I now bring the TruEarth eco-strips. I found them very convenient to pack in checked luggage or in a carry-on, as they are flat and thin so you can pack as many as you want. Clothes smell fresh too! Have a great time in Japan!

I'm in the "watch every video I possibly can that is even remotely relevant to sate my excitement" phase of pre-travel for my trip to Japan in a month, and I have to say, your Japan travel videos are a delight, and answer so many questions in a concise and easy to digest way. So let this comment serve as a catch-all comment for basically all of your Japan videos. :)

Your attitude is great and your positive energy is super infectious, and while it's definitely fun to watch videos from full-time professional globetrotters who've been everywhere and done it all (and travel for three months on a single carry-on bag), your advice and certainly feels a bit more approachable and grounded for the average person prepping for a Japan vacation in 2024.
Things can change so fast that advice from even a year ago can be out of date, so it's been a joy to have up to date information presented in such an approachable way. Thanks for sharing!

A word of advice to anyone who is considering going to Japan... GO! GO NOW!
The exchange rate is incredibly favorable right now, especially from the US Dollar $.
It is like everything is discounted 30% off (accommodations, food, trains, etc.)

For claiming to be an "over-packer" I think you did a pretty good job. Everything you brought had a reason and it gave me some ideas of important things I should bring on future trips. Thanks for sharing. =)

Going end of September for 2 months into the Morioka region. Was these last 9 years ago but one thing remains constant in urban or rural country side areas: walking, walking, walking WALKING everywhere when not on a train. OMG. And everyone walks- young, old, toddlers and I between. So much to consider- transportation modes, what to see and do-recommend "a sand onsen" if in ones routes. Safe travels
Can't wait for report when you return. Thank you

I wasn't sure I could watch the whole video because of the "energy"..lol. But I found this to be really fun and I don't know..."uplifting"(?)because of her personality.I am such an overpacker...you just never know what you need and it always hurts to spend that money on something you already have...and you could have spent it on something "fun". But to everyone's point, it isn't like you can't find what you need there. I am going for 2 weeks and this is going to be a challenge. Watching Youtuber's has been so helpful in narrowing down the most import things.

U remind me of my old me when packing😀. Because of "just in case". When needing to stay warm, try the HEAT TECH WEAR from UNIQLO, very thin (takes almost nothing of space), but they really keep u warm WITHOUT the bulk. They also come in different warmth level. They have been my go to here in Alberta Canada where temps can go down to -40's. Doing this would definitely save u packing space. When cold, u don't really perspire, so I would pare down to neutral pants and probably only take 2-3pairs at most, probably less if the hotel has washer/dryer. I would pack more of tops for pix variety, who cares about looking at ur pants😅. Another thing i bring with me to stay warm are "neck gaiters", the neck is highly vascular so keeping it covered will keep a lot of body heat. BULA has many cute designs.
