Is your PC running slower than it used to? Does it take longer to get to a running desktop when you restart or cold boot? There are a lot of things that could be slowing your PC and one of the more common causes are all of the apps, services and processes that load at startup.

In this video, I'll show you a free tool you can use from Sysinternals called Autoruns. It blows away what you can find in Windows Task Manager's startup tab, exposing hundreds of hidden processes, services, tasks, libraries, Office add-ins and more that autostart when you PC starts up.

Where to find it:

What I film with and use on my daily Microsoft Teams calls:

Sony A7 II:

Ring light:
Softbox diffuser:

I've been needing this kind of tool for years now! Thank you so much, serious saved me so much time clicking through folders and regedit trying to find out how 1 single program was still starting up. Great video.

so it saves settings if you simply uncheck the boxes for program

also, if want to use a program only sometimes will it work to disable all autostart for that program then once want to run it just click it like normal, or have to check in all startup boxes for that program again and perhaps restart for it to work again?
thanks

Would any of these startup applications that you disable be reenabled after a Windows update?

Thanks for the tips and tricks!
