Sharif Hussein, whose full name was Hussein bin Ali al-Hashimi, was born in Istanbul in 1852. He belonged to an old family in charge of protecting Mecca. Between 1856 and 1858, he stayed in Mecca during his grandfather’s emirate and then returned to Istanbul. In 1861, upon the death of his father, he went to Mecca with his uncle Emir Abdullah and completed his education there.
Why did Arabs BETRAY the Ottoman Empire?
In 1893, he was summoned to Istanbul by Sultan Abdülhamit Khan because of his intrigues for the Arabs to revolt in Mecca where he stayed until 1893. His excessive intimacy with the British and his unreliable and passionate character attracted the attention of Sultan Abdülhamit Khan. In order to be in the public eye, he was given a simple task in the palace. Thus, Sharif Hussein lived in Istanbul with his family for 16 years in the mansion allocated to him.
However, after Sultan Abdul Hamid II was deposed, he was appointed as the emir of Mecca in place of his uncle who had died with an interesting decision and sent to Mecca.

The people that the Turks are most angry with are the Arabs, because betrayal does not come from the enemy, it comes from the friend. My grandfather died fighting against the British in Yemen, he ran to the war because jihad had been declared. The last time I saw it on the news, Yemenis were destroying Ottoman graves in Yemen. What did we die for? The sad but true answer is; nothing.

As an Arab myself, I am really frustrated and angry about My ancestries decision to backstab most powerful islamic empire that protect and fought for islam and islamic world for more than 500 years and if it managed to survive might achieve a relative peace, prosperity and make it even more powerful Caliphate to reckon with but we also have to acknowledge the wrong decision of the Ottoman to side with central powers in World War I.

As a Turk and the grandson of the Empire I will never forget the betrayal of the arabs. We treated them as our Muslim brothers but they betrayed our ancestors and sided with christians. Fahreddin Pasha was the best example of the defence against the christians and traitors. We Turks also have a saying, it goes like this "The wolf survives the winter but does not forget the frost he had."

Am Arab from Saudi Arabia, and am so angry at the Arabs who betrayed the Ottoman Empire. Since they made that decision, the region hasn’t witnessed peace thanks to the yellow teeths 🇬🇧

Edit: I know Saudi Arabia had nothing to do with the betrayal and I know some Turks were cruel, but I was talking about the aftermath, the Ottoman Empire was the only thing keeping the region stable during that time, after they fell, the British entered and completely messed everything up

We, Pakistanis, back then Indian Muslims, struggled to save and protect Ottoman Empire. Despite, British rule we faced enormous hardship, imprisonment and atrocities but we struggled for Ottoman Empire and to defend our Muslim Turk brothers. We are still proud of our struggle . But alas, we couldn't save Ottomans.

Can you imagine if the ottomans and the Arabs have stayed together, and they created something similar like the European union, 😮. they would have been extremely Rich and extremely powerful. But the British were experts manipulators, they used the oldest tactics, divide and conquer.

Din kardeşliğinin olmadığını geç anladık, bu şiiri hiçbir Türk unutmamalı :

"Gazze'nin meğer kumundan çokmuş kalleşi

Nasıl sırtından vurur insanı din kardeşi!

Filistin, Trablusgarp, Yemen illeri.

Hangisini kanım ile sulamadım?

Gezdim cephe cephe bütün çölleri,

Türk'e, Türk'ten başka dost bulamadım!"
