How does nicotine affect your body what side effects does it have on your health?

No, I’m not talking about how smoking affects your health. But what nicotine does to your body.

It’s important to know this because nicotine is being portrayed as an innocent, even healthy substance. Research shows otherwise.

In this video, you will learn:
- How nicotine affects different parts of your body, like your heart and lungs.
- How nicotine affects your baby if you’re pregnant.

I've literally spent hours looking for a video on the effects of nicotine alone.. I'm about to celebrate my 1st year without cigarettes, after smoking for 22 years. I have been using tobacco free nicotine products this whole year and have wondered if that's why I still have high blood pressure. Thank you! Day one of zero nicotine starts now

Finally someone actually discussing nicotine as a standalone substance not in connection with smoking or tobacco. I still believe though more research needs to be done because many studies ate connected to other drugs and substances such as smoking.

9 days ago, I had a moment of absolute anger and frustration. I said to myself, "That's it. I am so sick of smoking, I HATE that I am addicted. I'm going to get a plan in place, and quit for good this time." I immediately cut back from more than a pack a day to 10-12, and began to mentally prepare myself for a full quit. I'm not there yet, but these videos are echoing all of my thoughts and self-examinations. Last night, I had a bad dream (like I normally do), but I became aware I was dreaming. I asked the dream character, "What do you want?" And he replied, "I'm stressing you out so you'll wake up and have a cigarette!" I said, "But you are a part of my own mind. Why do you want to destroy my efforts?" He responded, "Because I am your addiction, and you are trying to kill me." I said, "No. You are the part of me that IS addicted, and I am trying to HEAL you. Stop sabotaging me and get on board." My cravings have been much less intense today, the time between cigarettes is longer. Some deep mental blocks are breaking down. Thank you for these videos. I think I will actually succeed this time.

Been smoking all my life and this would explain why my memory is so bad. Also I thought I was fasting but since nicotine increases blood glucose levels I'm actually not in a fasted state. Thank you, great information.

I had no idea that nicotine is that bad for me. I'm 17 years old. It's probably a good idea to quit. It's pretty hard tho because everyone around me is using it in school, parties and just about everywhere else...

There are symptoms in the list that sound like are more likely related to smoking rather than the nicotine itself. Are we sure they are all symptoms of nicotine in the abscence of smoking?

I was smoking & vaping at the same time and quit. Been about 6 weeks for the cigarettes and 3 weeks for the vaping. I gained 5 plus pounds, but my clothes are looser. I am a lot more physically active after I quit and tend to eventually actually loose some weight. I am still struggling with the nicotine cravings though.

I’ve literally been vaping for 3 days now and it’s already effecting me badly. I honestly regret doing it . Especially cause I am very sensitive to pain and when I’m not smoking, I’m in agony which makes me want to smoke even more, But watching this video is helping me not smoke. Thank you
