SpaceX Revealed New Starship OLM Design MOBILE Launch Mount!
What can we expect from Starship's new launch system?
SpaceX has ushered in a new era for Starship with the completion of its launch tower. Now, attention turns to other key components, particularly the new launch mount (OLM).
Recent developments suggest that the upcoming OLM will feature innovative designs vastly different from the current system.
What upgrades might the new OLM include? How will these changes impact Starship’s operations?
Join us on today’s episode of Great SpaceX as we explore these questions and delve into what’s next for Starship’s launch infrastructure.
SpaceX Revealed New Starship OLM Design MOBILE Launch Mount!
Building a new launch system is a monumental step for SpaceX, marking a crucial advancement in the development of Starship and its associated infrastructure. As the year progresses, SpaceX’s commitment to advancing their space exploration goals becomes increasingly apparent. The recent completion of the launch tower represents a significant milestone, signaling that SpaceX is preparing for a new era of more frequent and complex launches. This infrastructure is not just a physical structure but a symbol of SpaceX's readiness to push the boundaries of space travel. However, the focus now shifts to another critical component of the launch system: the launch mount, or Orbital Launch Mount (OLM), which is expected to undergo a revolutionary upgrade.
SpaceX Revealed New Starship OLM Design MOBILE Launch Mount!
The traditional OLM has been a fixed, immovable structure designed to provide stability during launches. Its primary function has been to support the rocket, facilitate fueling operations, and assist with pre-launch preparations. While effective, the static nature of the traditional OLM limits flexibility and adaptability. SpaceX’s proposed changes to the OLM could dramatically alter the way launches are conducted, introducing features that promise to enhance efficiency and operational capability.

To be resolved, thank you.

Now have visions of a mobile OLM racing down the road to catch a booster that's gone off course 😄

Wouldn’t they need to reinforce the highway to carry that weight?

The ONLY upgrade we NEED is getting the FAA out of the way of progress.

I think another flame trench should be built at launch tower A. Get rid of the launch mount and build it just like tower B. No more expensive and time-consuming repairs to the Quick disconnect and all the other components that will need to be updated after each launch at tower A.

Tudo que a Spacex faz é sucesso, pois é feito por professionais altamente qualificados e experientes.

*For comparison; Space X got it's tower at the launch site assembled about a month after the delivery of all of the components. The cost was said to be under $100 million for the entire thing*
NASA's Launch tower was supposed to cost $388 million, now the costs have blown out to $2.2 billion, and the Inspector General says that NASA will end up having to pay $2.7 billion. The launch tower was supposed be built by the end of 2021. *_NASA's launch tower is still not complete_*

YES❤ Putting the circle on the square seems like more stability. Having it raised maybe gives more venilation? I thought the tongs would scrape the tiles off? I dont see them. No heat shield? I love these videos. I dont know one thing about a rocket except they are beautiful!!

This is what separates SpaceX from the rest…. Constantly looking for the next best thing….always improving!!!

The size of everything pertaining to spaceflight is insane, I was at Spaceport during the shuttle program, and to see the launchpads, the crawler, the VAB and Apollo rocket laying on it's side, all incredibly huge...to think it's all small compared to SpaceX, just unbelievable !

*Kevin, if anyone can make the new OLM design work, it's Space X*
If this was a NASA project, I would have to reluctantly say "No"
However, a Space X project is likely to succeed, so it's "Yes" from me.

perhaps i missed it but where is the evidence that it will be mobile coming from? we know square was prefered due to the flame trench but mobile?

Oh brother, SpaceX is finally admitting NASA's 50 year old Flame Trench technology at Pad 39A is the only way to deal with millions of pounds of downward thrust. Oh how revolutionary!

Nothing new on the OLM just conjecture!

Great idea for the launch just move the mile accross the Rio Grande del Norte and launch, no license required, months of paper work eliminated
A win-win situation.

I've tried finding where SpaceX makes any mention of a mobile OLM. If anyone can give a credible source, that would be great. This sounds like click-bait of overly optimistic speculation. Don't get me wrong, I like this channel, just found it. I'm hoping this is a one-off.

OLM takes the wrath of raptors best it can. To build that to bulletproof status will definitely take time, our answers don't just fall from the sky.

I'm very curious about how they want to implement this on a mobile platform, like they initially intended to make point to point launches possible...

Is SpaceX going to make an "orbital tourist" version of Starship.

Please do episodes on the Starship vehicle. SpaceX has approval to launch a 2nd flight 4. That would test the flaps, heat tiles and controlled landing of Starship. All critical milestones. Catching the booster is relatively easy compared to sending Starship into orbit, deploying satellites, transferring fuel, surviving reentry and landing on a drone ship. Why is SpaceX not conducting flight 5 this week, next week, immediately?

Okay seriously this click bait is getting ridiculous! You have a pretty decent sized channel and all click bait does is hurt your credibility! Once you lose credibility people go elsewhere to get their information.
