Have They Actually Ruined the New BMW M5?

Regarding my weight Argument: The point I'm making is based on the unarguable fact that the vast majority of M5 owners are not tracking their cars. This is simply a fact regardless of what M stands for and BMW will tell you this themselves. I'm not arguing that the weight is a benefit. But that it won't be a deal breaker for a lot of the actual customer base for a car like this. The M3 has grown by 1000 pounds since the 90s and has only become more popular as a performance car. Which is why I'm lead to believe it's not going to be a deal breaker for the new M5s success. Obviously I'd prefer an ultra lightweight V8 sports sedan. But this is what we got and I'd like to look at the glass half-full.

As far the parking garage, I thought it was visually evident that it was pouring rain outside. It simply wasn't feasible to film outdoors for the one full day I had to put this together. I would have filmed the video in direct sunlight otherwise. I apologize for that!

And lastly, typically my videos I've filmed on this channel have been nearly 30 minutes in length. I normally try to be quite in-depth. And I've gotten quite a lot of feedback making it clear that you all would prefer to watch a more condensed video closer in length to what Marques typically does. That's what I was going for here. But I hear all of your feedback and will put it into consideration for future videos.

It is correct that people usually don't take M5s for track days, but the point was that if you wanted to, YOU COULD. M5s were about comfortable, reasonably lean sedans that could give authentic sports cars a run for their money. This one maybe too heavy for that.

I have to strongly disagree with the conclusion, the M5 is fundamentaly NOT a high-speed comfort crusier. That's what the normal 5-series is supposed to be. This is the M5, the version tuned to be a sports car and as such needs to be sporty.

I 100% agree about the weight argument. The average demographic of person who buys an M5 brand new, for generations, definitely does not track their car and probably have another car as a daily driver. The M5 has always been a luxury sport model.

I love how many people care about what Marques did like it affects them personally? Was it dangerous? Yes definitely. Do people speed all the time? Also yes. Again this also doesn’t affect you at all. I just wanted to see reviews about cars but all I saw was a bunch of people holding grudges just because it’s fun.
