My parents were boomers. My dad used to say openly that he never wanted children, my mother used to say that she “hated kids” which is why I don’t have any siblings.

I was told to never have kids of my own because kids are “disgusting” and my mother went back to work full time after 8 weeks.

We went through this exercise where she would blame me for the “pain you put me through in childbirth” and I’d have to apologise for being born.

Plenty of other stories.

I’m now middle aged and terribly messed up with low self esteem and various issues. No amount of therapy chances the core beliefs I have.

She can’t see what she has ever done wrong. I haven’t spoken to her in a decade.

Boomers definitely did a lot of damage.
Each generation rebels against the former, and the Boomers ramped it up several generations ahead of itself.

Finally a boomer not only willing to admit this, but also disgusted by it. I have literally never even heard of an accountable boomer before. It truly is a breath of fresh air. Because as he said, most boomers will point the finger at Millennials instead of taking a look in the mirror.

I'm generation X and my parents were both members of the silent generation. Two of my elder siblings are boomers and the other two belong to my generation. I can safely say that yes, I completely agree with Matt in that the boomer generation was the one which let the western civilization slip into the sewer. All successive generations have played their part, even mine, but it was on the boomer's watch that the sentry fell asleep, so to speak.

I agree that we are a fallen race of human beings; however, there is plenty of blame that could be attributed to the Baby Boomer generation. They were heavily involved in the rapid moral and social decay of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Things got better in the 80s, but went down the tubes after 9/11. We're currently at our lowest point in US history in my opinion.

My main issue with the boomers is they were the first to radically break traditional norms. Then they complain their kids are awful, and society has gone to shit.

My parents are boomers and they've been wonderful parents, they did their best. Not all boomers are to blame. All of us are flawed in one way or another.

They forget how their parents felt exactly the same way about them. “Spoiled and ungrateful.” The people who lived through the Great Depression, and World War Two raised the baby boomers, and before the generation was fully formed as adults the silent generation was already saying how spoiled they were.
I personally think it all started with Baby Boomers, because media was first televised, there was so much going on in school while they were young kids and teens and the government policies were changing too which definitely had an impact on children.

I agree that my generation did a lot of things wrong: “sex, drugs and rock ‘n ‘roll”; “if it feels good, do it”; peace ☮️ and luv; and calling the police “pigs”, to name a few. We are are now reaping the rotten fruit of the seeds we sowed.

my dad is a boomer and he agrees that a good portion of his generation is morally corrupt, he on the other hand is a great father that did everything in his power to make sure me my older brother and sister lived a good life growing up and didnt criticize us for not being as work driven as his generation was, he made good money working a factory job. he always says if any of us need help with anything to call him and hell try to help the best he can.

Boombers ruined everything because they came up in a time where things were so good for them they were drunk off of it and never thought to take getting things in order for the country for the future generations. They were all about "me me me me me".

Every generation has blame in a 31yo Millennial who was raised with traditional moral values and it's absolutely sickening to see the direction my generation and the younger generations are taking society. When you have a society with no morals, no boundaries whatsoever, no work ethic, open-mindedness taken to the level of absurdity, hostility towards anything considered normal or traditional, all of this is going to end civilization within the next 20-30 years (if not are doomed, only a miracle will save
