Very good video and I wish I had found this earlier, when I was first trying to get OC running on my cMP 4, 1 (flashed to 5, 1). Thank you for taking time to review these. And for the classic Mac Pro, all I can say is "Go Martin Lo!"

Thanks for this video, I have 2 MP mid 2012, 12 core and 6 core, both are running Monterey with OpenCore Legacy without issues, I do have a MP 2019 that's running Ventura

From an admin on OpenCore for Mac Pro FB group “Which version you should use is very simple. If you MUST run a Kepler GPU and require Monterey, if you MUST keep the legacy WiFi/BT module and need them, or if you MUST run Ventura, OCLP is the answer. For everything else, Martin Lo's package is the answer.” This refers to the Mac Pro 5, 1.

I have 2 x MP 4.1 running Martin’s OC with Big Sur, running great! And I acquired a bunch of iMac 27” 2013’s. Used OC Legacy Patcher to get one to Monterey. worked flawlessly!

Martin Lo released 0.9.8 in February, Don't have any issues with 0.9.7, but will install the new one just to see. This may be the last update.

my mbp is MD103 - 2012 - 16gb/512gb SSD
first I tried Ventura using OC 1.3.0 for my MBP but i realized that was too heavy, not smooth enough
so i installed Monterey and running smoothly without any issues

Oh man, thanks god someone has put some light on this subject. You can't imagine how useful it has been for me to watch this video. This is gold for a newbie like me. Let me ask you a question. After many doubts and fears, I finally got down to work yesterday. I am currently using Mojave with an Rx580 and my boot ROM is 144.0.0.0.0.0 (so far so good). My computer is a Mac Pro (Mid 2012) 2.4 ghz-6 core intel xeon/16 gb ddr3 and Solid State Sata drive 500 gb. My question is, Can i go directly from Mohave to Monterey with 0.91 Martin Lo's package??

Lance, I have been using OCLP and never knew until today that Martin Lo's version was specifically for the 5, 1s. I have a variety of machines but have been working a lot on a 5, 1 recently. I recently ordered a McFiver for the 5, 1 after I saw in one of your videos that the 10gigabit ethernet works. Then I realized that it was only fixed in Martin Lo's version. 1) Do you know if OCLP has followed suit and included the patch in their system? Also, for some of the reasons you cited here in this video, I still only use either Big Sur or Monterey so theoretically I could also use Martin Lo's version. While I know its not maintained anymore, I wonder if there would be any reasons why I might have difficulty if I swtiched to Martin Lo's version for either Big Sur or Monterey. 2) Does it install the same way as OCLP so that if I install Martin Lo's version I would not need to do anything other than just run it and save it before booting? 3) Do you think I could just copy and paste his kext files into my OpenCore EFI partition on OCLP to make it work? Many thanks (from Japan).

If you have installed OCLP latest version on a 2012 Mac Pro and want to change to Martin Lo's OC 9.8 is that possible? If so, how can you do that?

did anyone check for mac pro 5.1 render in blender with rx560-590 graphics card on ventura?
Render does not work for me with a video card, but it works in Monterey

Sorry to bother but if I used OCLP first and got to Monterey with my 4, 1 flashed to 5, 1, how hard would it be to switch to Martin Lo?
I have a rx 6800 coming and going to install it.
It's fairly stable but there is some sudden lag spikes on nvme's on Mac OS whereas my windows nvme was installed proper to make use of the UEFI loader of OC (I even ensured the old boot efi was removed to keep the rom clean). I even had the rom reconstructed with Enable GOP. (Dudes very nice!)
The biggest question is: Will I have to redo everything to switch? Or is it a matter of just swapping EFI folders after configuring the Martin Lo version?

Hi Lance, I'd like to ask you if it's possible to make backups in time machine with Martin Lo's open core?
