I am missing in this video how you flashed TWRP, I tried to follow official LineageOS guide for Nokia 6.1 TA-1043 and after successfully flashing the recovery, when I boot into it, I see blank dark screen.

Does the Lineage OS version have to match with the current stock version for a successful flash. I have a mate 9 and when I bought it it was android 7 out of the box which I later upgraded to android 8. So is it possible to flash Lineage 14.1 on my device as I want the google security patches to be a bit older. 15.1 comes with the latest December security patch and I dont want that.
