They also might be narcissists. I'm currently struggling with one at work who only talk about herself/tries to show herself as better, pushes through her opinions, hates when others disagree and sticks her nose into everything in the workplace. She got me removed from a job I really liked by blowing things out of proportions. The worst part is that the management even listens to her. I got into trouble when I told her: Sorry mam, but you're not my boss. So I would appreciate if you could mind your own business.

Sounds like you are trying to justify their behaviour. Sorry but some of these people are control freaks and bullies and make their colleagues working lives a misery. They should not get away with their behaviour.

I like to give bossy coworkers a taste if their own medicine. I find their weak spots at work and then tell them what to do. I usually don't engage but two can play at this game.

I'm gonna be blunt, all you pointed out were the reasons for their behaviours, we could care less about that!!! We wanted to know how deal with them, strategies and tactics, not some cheesy copy-paste line you read from some random book! Some people are damaged beyond repair and don't understand reason, it's a complete waste of time to try and be reasonable with them...

I just ignore it. Do my job. And nod my head. I hate confrontation. Although we've had a few, I've never let loose how i really felt to avoid trouble and confrontation. He's really close to management so i just do my job and let him trip out. Ik it can be toxic by holding in my anger and frustration but what else can i do? I just want to work in peace with no trouble or worries

When I get bossy coworkers who ask me to do something they don't say "Can you please do this or that?" obviously they haven't been taught manners or they hang with people who don't have manners themselves. I try to stay out of sight unless I have to work in the same area as them it's too the point where I'm ready to say "Do it yourself!"

they are bitter that they are not in a supervisory/management role. Or perhaps they believe they have higher academic qualification then you and on that they believe that make them "senior" to you even though they are officially they are the same job grade as you.
