Heres a thought.... get rid of all your "stuff" and keep the house... or add onto it in the back... why knock down a solid well built brick house with character to build an over priced ugly eye sore thats built with cheap materials and lacks character

Man.. That house was solid brick. No way in hell I'm tareing that down.. Resale value on brick home prob strong ah.. Js.. Cost of lumber.. Cost of waiting.. All new appliances.. All new electrical and plumbing. Bro. Roll that for 300k.. Then go buy a bigger house for 400k.. And only have a 300 dollar mortgage. Like. Really

Makes me sad, tearing down a well built house. Materialistic, more stuff & BIGGER typically means competing w/The Jones's. I hope you're not building up & taking away your neighbors' privacy in their backyards.

This kind of surprises me with the costs of materials and the labor shortages right now, as well as the costs and delays in transportation of materials. Maybe that isn't an issue in Tampa Bay. I can't quite understand why selling the house and land wouldn't help you buy something else better suited. But if you LOVE your lot, and you can afford to buy a new construction without selling your original home....OK. I just have to wonder how much you'd have to love the location to pay to tear down something of value that you might have sold and applied toward a new home.
My parents started in a fairly small rectangular house, and as our family grew, they added on. They repositioned walls. They enclosed porches and built new porches. Closed in a carport and build a new carport. And added on. They ended up in a large home that most people envied, along with an outdoor storage unit for all the yard tools, etc. The house has aged quite well. I reckon the homes in the videos didn't have "good bones".

First, this isn’t your normal neighborhood. It’s one of these high-end neighborhoods Davis Island, very exclusive part of Tampa and they’re making mini mansions so they can raise the price in the area and get Buku dollars for whatever they resell. This one homeowner may have merit, but getting rid of the old houses is an eyesore has nothing to do with unsafe homes It has everything to do with greed. this is the way it is. It happened to me up north just about every house in my little community became a mini mansion, including the one I sold and what is sold last year for would make you sick. I was not in an exclusive part of town. It just became that because of the Greed of the investors . . I am in Florida now and I’ve seen already in my neighborhood here change, lots that are being bought by big construction companies, big home investors and the normal lots 8-10, 000 lots Are now selling 40 to 50, 000 and that doesn’t even include anything on the water investors are the problem. on the other side of the coin, my property value will be worth more, but I am surely not gonna be forced in 10 years to change my house because it would be considered a fixer-upper. Or unsafe.

Typical baby boomers wasting a good house and money to get what you he wants. Gen Z or many wanna be home owners would appreciate that small house.
