When the pasta absorbs water it may be higher in weight but the calories remain the same.
Example:
Dry pasta
100 grams-350 calories
Cooked pasta (with water)
350 grams-350 calores

This extra weight is water so the calories in a handful of raw pasta remain the same as those in the same amount after cooking as water has no calories

So 1/2 cup or 85 grams of dry pasta BY WEIGHT is equal to 310 calories and assuming the pasta triples in VOLUME when cooked. So once cooked you can eat 1 and 1/2 cup of cooked pasta by VOLUME to equal 310 calories. To establish this if you want use a measuring cup that is for DRY ingredients not FLUIDS. (Not the glass measuring pyrex cups with the pour spout). Measure out cooked pasta re 1 and 1/2 cups for volume measurement and then put weighed pasta on a scale for a gram measurement. This will give you how much cooked pasta 310 calories is in grams.

Wouldn't this vary quite a bit? Depending on the type of pasta (certain flours likely absorb different amounts of water) as well as cooking time

Just weigh the pasta before cooking them
