I've been using a twice-per-day routine for about one year now. After some trial and error I found the right formula that worked for me, and I've never had such great results in gains.

In a nutshell: I train two days on, one day off. The workouts are about 10 hours apart. Morning workout is heavier weights/low reps; evening workout is lighter weights/high reps (to failure). Then after three full weeks of those cycles I spend the fourth week as a deload, doing only very light quick calisthenics to stay loose. Also during the workouts I always do supersets of two exercises that work totally different parts of the body, that way the workouts go much faster and don't take as much time, and keeps me fresh. 1-2 extra hours of sleep, or a midday power nap, also helps alot. Ground flax seed in almond milk right after the workouts cuts WAY back on soreness or fatigue.

If you play sports it's almost impossible to train for optimal performance training only once a day. You have to train general strength, endurance, as well as sports specific skills. Training twice a day allows you to split skill drills and general conditioning into seperate workouts so that each workout is more focused.

Great information! I use to train 5 times a week. now that I'm older, I train 3 times a week, but a hell lot more intense! recovery is better and I actually got stronger, even on a cut. just have to find what is optimal for yourself.

I'm gonna try it doing chest/back, legs+glutes/core, delts/arms+forearms followed by a light cardio day
I've got all the time in the world atm so I'll see how it goes

Great video as always mark. I currently train once per day but make sure I train every muscle group twice a week. Doing this, am I best to do one heavier and one with more volume?

man i can relate to the sensitive adrenals. i do my doubles on varied days but im not consistant with this. When i do this, it allows me to attack my weaker bodyparts that extra session a week. Great video.

in all vids on youtube you are the only one that gave me a true answear to this question. everybody else just didnt gave straight. thank you for that. i am no longer younger and i think that twice a day training would probably hurt me more than helped me.

I have done a challenge 3years ago, i wanted to train as long as i can twice a day without a rest day, i came to 83days 2 times 2 ours a day i was 58 kilos only musscles and i could not train for a year and i stil feel the pain in my legg 😂 i finaly train fully again i want to train 2 times a day cause i have fatt now but i have to be carefull

I work 3rd shift. I have been doing a 2 hour work work out system split in 2. A hour in the morning when I get home and hour before I go to work. after I have taken all my vitamins and had 8 hours of rest.no less then seven some days and a small breakfast and then I fast until 1 AM and don't eat after 6 AM . But I hit 4 body parts in one day Chest back legs arms And then rotate every other day with arms mixed in with 3 other body parts.

Well people like you are what are consider " your average Joe" but those people who want to become true body builders and complete in body building competitions then yes they train their behind off twice a day for hours 6 days a week. Your advice in this video for for an average person not for a person that is looking to complete. No pain no gain! A thing about rest. I make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night! I try to do 10 hours to make sure my body fully recovers.
