As an older snowboarder, 61, who has had a total knee replacement as well as spine surgery over the past 5 years, the step-on bindings have changed my life and have made snowboarding so much more enjoyable. There are absolutely no stability issues or safety issues in the two years that I have used them. The board and my bindings are incredibly responsive. Thank you Burton for this innovation!

I bet the guy with strap in binding can't feel his toes after 10 minutes.

He was purposely taking forever and clamped them down way more than necessary, multiple times. And you know the other guy had to clean out the compacted snow, in the step on binding, to make it work.

Such a bias, misleading video. The only people they're fooling are themselves and those who have zero experience with bindings and snow

I stopped snowboarding when I had my son 17 years ago but still have my Burton Custom and strap on bindings. I can’t wait to try step ins and see how different gear is!

Having tried both, I'm buying some step ons next. The response is great, I don't see many negatives at all, except the single brand lock in which should become less of a problem as they are adopted. My wife already has them and she loves them to bits & has had no issues so far.

Snowboard coach here(18 seasons). I recommend step in bindings for riders with mobility issues. You have to be pretty good to put in the binding standing, and very good to do while moving. Mostly beginners have to sit on their butts and struggle to use the step in system. And don't get me started on powder days, the components fill up with ice. You need to carry an ice pick with you! Special bindings require special boots. Like Boa boots, if your gear fails your out until the factory sends you new stuff. And finally if your a capable snowboarder and your priority is to get your bindings on 4 seconds faster... Your priorities are off dude!

i was boarding in a blizzard the other day and a guy had these so i dont doubt their reliability at all, he had some pretty good crashes too and they never popped off. the one question i have is how well they work when powder is caked into the binding since every clip ive seen shows them completely clean

Oh no a whole 20 seconds to feel super secure on your board

Good idea Burton, let’s teach new riders to over crank their bindings so far that they buy new boots when they can’t figure out why their feet hurt!

I used to have K2 clickers, and once you finally broke in the boots, they were amazing. I could click in on the lift and be riding immediately from the top if I wanted.

This is why I use flows. More stability than the step-ons, but almost just as quick.

Should have included the time it took to scrape all the ice out of the clip on binding. 😅

The Midwest miracle binding, it also has the added benefit of being more responsive and repeatable run after run consistency that regular straps struggle with

The move is not making straps look inferior, as they are forever the way to connect to the deck. Click in and save time where you can if you want but dont be making straps out to be less than when theyve always been the way to get it done right. Clicks are for kids man 🐇

I've k2 bindings where the back of the binding has a lever the releases it and you fold it backwards away from the boot, so you can just pull the boot out. Too or it in again you just shove the boot in and tighten the lever up and you're good to go. Takes three secs max

I demo’d these 4-5 years ago. I weigh about 210 at 6’ and popped out twice during the day messing around along with a small wash out at one point. They felt good until they felt scary. They also made snapping sounds periodically. I’d try again if improved
