I got that same laptop days ago and I'm very comfortable with windows 10 but it came with windows 11 which I'm not completely familiar with.
I sometimes wish people with making technology more advanced would, just for maybe 2-4 years, stop.

I just bought an HP, and in Settings it says I am running Windows 11 Home(no S mentioned)- however, I can't download anything except from microsoft store- where did they hide the freakin' S mode stop? Nothing on mine looks like your step 2 in "activation" TIA

Your not clear...! It appears a Microsoft account is mandatory to get out of S mode. So I can't have a local account and exit S mode..?

The Microsoft Store isn't working for me. Can't install apps, or switch out of S Mode. Keeps giving me error messages.

As a gamer that likes to record gaming i cant use any of the capture cards to store videos in the laptop because it requires obs and it cannot get obs because of s mode, now i would just simply leave s mode but the warning of switching out of s mode can lead to further on damage... I'm afraid if i do this that'll be 800 dollars down the drain..

Keep in mind that Edge browser is built on the Chrome browser so anything you can do on Chrome you can do on Edge.

Update your Laptop First!
Do a Factory Reset.

Don't want an MS account, so no way to leave S Mode without one that I can

I had the same problem with a Lenovo laptop a friend of mine got recently, Have always had a problem with using a Micros**t account but with no way to switch it off without using one I was a bit stumped, then I found a “CyberCPU Tech” fix the other week. Hope this helps.
