I just read more about this tribe. One thing is that they eat about 150-200 grams of dietary fiber per day. That is _nuts._ For reference, the American Heart Association recommends 25-30 grams per day, with 15 grams per day being typical for Americans. The fiber appears to play a key role in microbiome, as the bacteria fluctuated drastically depending on the season, as the dry season saw them eating much more meat and the wet season saw much more gathering, so berries and honey were common. This is really interesting. I'm trying to figure out how to eat more fiber myself now, but even oatmeal is only 4 grams per 1/2 cup serving!

I think one thing I will start trying to do is have 1 cup of oatmeal in the morning (with raspberries, ideally, they're high in fiber) and have i can of black beans in the evening as a snack, as they too are very high in fiber. This alone will at least get me to around 25 grams per day. At least I'll be hitting the minimum recommendation. Something like 95% of Americans aren't getting enough fiber. That's wild.

EDIT: Yesterday and today I've been starting with 1 cup of oatmeal and adding ground flaxseed and some chia seed. Already feeling better. Actually slept well last night for first time in awhile.
